More than a half of covering columns are installed on NSC Olympic

On Wednesday 14 of July 2010 46 columns are already constructed on the stadium Olympic NSC, these columns support covering over spectators stands. According to the project the construction of the canopy will be composed of 80 steel columns, cable system and covering membrane. Assembling finishing of all 80 columns is planned for the autumn.

The next level of covering constructing will be cable-stayed system. The process of cable production is already completed. Its delivering to Olympic NSC is in the process. At the moment platforms for cable system arrangement are preparing on tires of stands.

Another building works are in active process on different sections of constructing.

Basic building works are completed in cold zone and engineering networks installation is started – ventilation system, water-supply system, vacuum system and storm water drain. The builders started decoration works inside cold zone.

In VIP-zone the works on constructing of 5floor building in process. The works on 2nd tire of stands construction in VIP-zone in process:the formwork for declined cross-beams are installed already and wire cages are being manufacturing.

Waterproofing works are in process in parking zone and fan zone. Steps assembling of lower and upper tier of stands and upper tier reconstruction in stadium cup is in process.

The works on Olympic NSC are fulfilled in 3 shifts. Up to 12 of July 2010 1521 workers are involved for building works fulfillment and 180 units of equipment.

BTW, is it typical in Kyiv or is it some kind of local anomaly? Is regulated in any way?

You mean airconditioning? I think it is not so common.

the other two? kharkiv and donetsk are ready. only problem is with lviv stadium which their picking up speed in construction. you got mixed up i think.

2 years? They have been reconstructing this stadium for about a year and a half and with such progress, they will get this stadium done by next year, and finally Dynamo Kyiv will be able to play Champions league/ Europa league matches on this stadium next season

I wonder why are they wasting time to fill armoring (?) with concrete instead of putting on prefabricated elements on upper tier?

Well m8, its the designers choice really, i guess they want to keep this stadium a bit old fashioned. If you look at some of the very first comments, its says that about 75% of the stadium had to be demolished, after all this is a reconstruction, not a completely new built stadium.

But what's the difference? Either way stadium would look the same, the difference is just in way of constructing. As far as I know using prefabricated elements imakes it faster and easier so what's the point

To be honest, idk why, its just a decision that the manager made. Maybe also financially they decided not to waste more money, really idk, these are just guesses
