Anyone watching?
Half the people there are either bored or looking somewhere else

I didn't watch it, even though my AP Government class will be talking about it tomorrow. I was OK with him before the special elections, now I can't wait when he's not the governor anymore.

Yes, they did. Took them a while, of course, but there were generally positive mumblings on the subject around mid-day West Coast time on the following day.

I didn't watch it. I went to Westwood really fast and then when I got on the car, I turned on the radio and well, they were making fun of him. Now that I think about it, I didn't even know that yesterday was the bgbgbgbg state of the state.

Once I'd figured out that I had missed Arnold's speech I followed potatoguy's advice and watched the evening news on a bunch of local channels. THANKS for the hint!

@alex3000- (not to be confused with alex 537 ): It was grand outreach kind of speech. He acknowledged and apologized for his recent mistakes, outlined a bunch of major public works projects and is looking forward to future cooperation in order to make the State of CaliFOHnia flourish.

Judging from your signature, 3000, I don't see the Governor as half the threat you seem to think he is.

His message actually reminds me of FDR and his "New Deal" coalition. Its true that the state will need a full scale re-work in order to prepare the state from a new demographic boom, but hopefully this won't end as yet another debt burden to the next generation.

We totally need all the infrastructure fixed in California. IN that sense, I agree with the Governor. But I usually loathe him.

True, we're seriously behind with the infrastructure. For on thing it's time to underground all electrical & telephone cables.

I didn't quite like the proportions between the Governor's proposed spending on streets & highways and public transit, though. He says he doesn't want people to waste time sitting in traffic jams. I say spend a lot more money to provide better transit and there will be fewer jams, plus the air quality will improve.

unfortunatley, there is NO money for local mass transit!!!!! we should invest billions for mass transit, and the left overs for highway imporvemtns, not the other way around. hopefully the state legislature will push mass transit for LA, SF, SD and maybe Sacto.

Amen, brother!

California, and the US in general, just have things bassackwards.

P.S.: I have little faith in the State Legislature, at least not as far as "transportation" is concerned.
