Ras Al Nasa'a Resort - Doha

Location: Doha, Qatar
Size: 15,000 sq.m.
Status: Design Development
This project is comprised of 3 elements: a boutique hotel with 150 rooms, luxury suites, villas and palaces for families, a marina, and a retail and banquet hall area, which includes specialty restaurants that serve hotel residents as well as outside guests.
The unique design of this hotel earned Dimensions 2nd prize in its competition, putting our firm ahead of many international firms that participated in this competition. Its traditional design creates an added value to the project as it also acts as a tourist attraction. The axial layout of the different elements maximizes use of the site and provides each of the facilities with its desired level of privacy. There are several entrance points around the site. The business facilities are located street-side, while the residential and hotel accommodations lie on internal gardens to add a level of privacy and segregation from the general public while still providing them with views of lush gardens, the pool and the sea.

I still think it was a mistake to destroy the old one, I really liked it. it was unique compared with this.

Traditional heritage architecture for the win, keep the essence of Arabian Islamic Qatar alive.

I think it rather complements it by providing everyone that comes from the airport of a continuous view of Qatari heritage and culture and a sense of identity to the place by showing the old doha (sharg zone, national museum, islamic museum, dhow port and souq area) and transition into the modern metropolitan one (westbay and beyond)

Doha nowadays is a way more "mature" city than it was few years back, instead of just malls and tall buildings we're focusing on the more important aspects.

A luxury boutique hotel with leisure, restaurants, cafes and specialized retails units. The sea
views have been maximized in the scheme allowing for unobstructed views.
The inspiration for this contemporary urban design is drawn from the traditional Qatari
house on its lot with both open and closed majelises. The design follows the principles of
the best achievement of contemporary Arabic Architecture, securing the incorporation of
the rich Islamic cultural heritage of Qatar
