JERVOIS & LAWRENCE | 165-167 Jervois Rd | Under Construction

"Sitting on the crest of Herne Bay’s northern slopes, Jervois & Lawrence offers a variety of living options within its 28 luxury apartments. Garden apartments nestle behind private courtyards. Sleek, urban-style apartments capture the unique Jervois Road vibe. Elevated balcony apartments are flooded with views, light and warmth; magnificent penthouse apartments offer a lifestyle that most of us only dream."

I dunno. It seems out of scale for that location. The actual site is nothing much right now but the neighbourhood is one of those special human-scale parts of Auckland. (And I'm sure the render is distorting how large it really is....)

"Out of scale" not really but will be solved when the rest of Jervois is converted to 4 storeys

If I see any posts from you complaining about a housing shortage/crisis, i'll link you back to this post

Good luck with that

I guess there's not a lot of love for the existing Herne Bay/ Ponsonby ambiance from one or 2 here. I could only speculate as to the reasons.........

I live in Grey Lynn, its lovely...but is there a lot of rubbish that gets blanket 1 storey heritage coverage when something like the above would be waaaay more beneficial. You can have both, most other Cities in the world can balance this..

Just jump into Google Street view for the site and you'll see its perfectly fine for whats proposed, its on a 4 lane thoroughfare with PT connections. Come on now..

Striking building , hope that what appears to look like a stone finish is done to the exterior concrete elements and the final colours are close to the renders.

Great post Rob

I am actually not so sure about that stone look. I think I would have preferred a smooth plaster/ render to mimic the great Deco apartments further down the road. Would help keep a sense of street continuity.
