I presume that's zinc that's used as a cladding material, rather than aluminium. Looks fairly good. Are those residential units? Any ideas of cost?

iirc these are business units specifically for creative/digital businesses.

I like them, and would like to see something like this built in the Ouseburn where it would fit in well. designed by newcastle's Xsite architecture.

Heres some more info.: http://www.thedigitalcity.org/ and http://www.dcbusiness.eu/

BoHo 2 is live/work units, i'm guessing there under construction? Would be good if we could get some totally finished up of this, as its a lovely building!

Do you know how that building is coming a long just after BoHo and the new Police Station?

I like the black&white (grey) building, but altogether this project seems rather clucky, cheap, and lego like. Each to there own though.

The cost of the Bohos is ,
Boho1 is £10m ,
Boho2 is £3m ,
Boho3 is £600,000 and situated in what was a disused wing of the railway station
They are also seeking funding for a Boho 4 and 5

I'm not sure if it's black/white, or black/grey.

^ If you went down and saw it in the flesh, you'd probably change your mind, looks pretty high quality and a good piece of quality archite4cture in the flesh.

@ ims - Do you know where we can find the plans for BoHo 3,4 and 5, or any info. on them. + I also cant find the info. on BoHo two either.

Thats a very good view point to see construction of BoHO 2. Would be good to get a picture in 6 months say? Then compare the progress.

Its a shame Boho 2 is going to block the view of the west side of Boho 1 .

You'll just have to go and buy one of those work/live units then so you can see it every day! What colour was the cladding on BoHo 2, i think it was green?

Here's the project information regarding Boho 2 (BoHouse). There's two more renderings on the website.

Quote:
Client
Erimus Housing- Boho 2 Live Work Units

Brief
Live/Work provides dedicated work space co-located with where people choose to live. They cover a range of configurations for people who want to place different emphasis on their workplace and who desire a better choice of where and how to live. In reaction to this Erimus Housing asked us to design 20 Live Work units to sit alongside the Boho1 Digital City development in Middlesbrough.

Implementation

The development aims to take a contemporary approach towards building shape and massing, use of materials, fenestration and internal spatial arrangements which will set it aside from most volume house developments and reflects the dual use inside. The development consists of 1 and 2 bed apartments over 3 and 4 storey heights. Common staircase enclosures, larger scale glazing elements over double spaces, roof terraces and balconies will contribute to defining and expressing the design intentions described above.
