The Stages Academy | Middlesbrough | 4fl | Completed

English Churches Housing Group are building a new four storey development on Wellington Street just along from Boho containing 30 bedsitsfor homeless people.
The interesting thing about this development is it is being built in a similar style as the Boho development and the Middlehaven theme and as such it is to be as eco friendly as possible with solar panels on the roof to heat its water and a metal roof to collect rainwater to be recycled for use in the building.

Shaping up quite nicely, isn't it? I like how they have gone for a modern desgin that fits in with the area. Although, i think the browny coloured cladding is a bit morkish, but i like the building overall. Please keep updates coming! It seems to have progressed pretty fast like!

I think the part of the building that fronts the main road is to be cladded in a similar red to the Boho building ,you can just see where they have started to do it in the right hand lower side of the building

Ah yes, i seen the first panel of the red a while back. If it is like the BoHo building on the front then it will look really good. Hopefully its finished to a high standrad and it lasts like i think the BoHo will. Please do keep us updated.

This area will now have some good modern buildings on it, especially when all the different BoHo Phases are complete.

Heres a pic of it from the roof of the Zetland carpark showing the solar panels on the roof.

I see what you mean about the BoHo style, especially from that photo it looks as if it could be apart of the same development. I Like it. Looking forward to seeing it finished. Thanks for posting.

Thanks for this pic!! Yes very BoHo in style! And that can only be a good thing as IMO BoHo is the best new build in Middlesbrough.

Yes, BoHo is brilliant quality, i love it, doesn't really seem to be noticed by many people there, i bet some people don't even know it exists!

This building is not far off finished i don't think, will get a glimpse of it today when i drive past to the Boro match, so will post on here with how far it looks on.

I had twenty minutes to kill on my way to work today and the conditions were rather nice to take a few construction update snaps.

As much as I like Boho1, I can't say I'm a fan of this developments randomised cladding. In my opinion, it's going to age quickly, very quickly. Especially those colours.

For those who can't read the sign on the last photo, it says ''Children must not play on site''

Haha. :P

I don't mind it, but i do know what you mean. I like the wooden cladding at the rear of the building though. I don't think the red part will age too much.

Thanks for those photos - was wondering how these two developments were getting on.

I quite like this development ,the multi coloured panels remind me of Lego blocks, i think for what is basicly a hostel a lot of thought has gone into it and is keeping with the Boho/Middlehaven theme of the area.

Agree with Ims, don't think you'll find a better looking hostel in the area!
Looks best from the front, whats happening with the building to the right?

The old brick building next door is getting pulled down and redeveloped as part of the scheme as soon as the main building is built.

Ah ok, thats good. Do we have any pictures of this second building? Is it an add-on or is it a separate building?

Ah ok, thanks for that update. We could do with some up to date photos now. I might have a ride down on my bike along the river from Stockton over Easter and get some photos of the various developments.
