LUBUMBASHI | Luano City | U / C.

USD$4 billion Development. Investors; South africans.

Luanao City
is located in the DRC’s fastest growing city, Lubumbashi, with current population in excess of 1.8 million people with a growing middle and upper middle class. Situated on the richest copper belt in the world, its fast rising income levels are as a result of the booming mining sector. Focus is on the building of new mines as well as the re-opening and expansion of existing mining facilities with numerous international mining houses operating in the vicinity (over US $10bn of inward investment). A Chinese investment of US $6bn for road infrastructure is approved and underway an there is a desperate need for the supply of housing, office, shopping and other community related facilities.

There is an availability of cost-effective bulk services and it has the highest level of provincial and local government support

Construction of Luano City can finally start.

Quote:
The reconstruction of the province of Katanga is undoubtedly a central concern of its leaders. After the meeting the governor of Katanga province, Moïse Katumbi Chapwe had with a delegation of South African entrepreneurs, led by Godfrey Mwami Mulongo, Wednesday, January 20, 2010 in Lubumbashi, it is clear that the project Luano City can finally start. Indeed, the head of the delegation suggested that during the meeting with the head of the provincial executive, it was a question for them to complete the final technical details with the provincial government. It was promised that everything will be ready in the next two weeks. These entrepreneurs believe begin construction of the city to give shape to their initiative.

Luano City is a mega project in the real estate sector which includes the construction of a modern city, Lubumbashi. This will include a residential, neighborhood commercial, tourist and sports, hotels. This is a truly mixed development project, as contractors say.

They didn't take land from anyone and put them in concetration camps. its an empty land, that they have leased.

My point is don't confiscate Congolese man's land, or your life is the price.

Like i said before, i don't care what they do, i long as they don't take anyone from their land.

South african weapons are one of my favorite after the Russia's.

Land is life and life is land in this part of the world.

If your willing to die, take Congolese man's land.

I doubt it's just the boers funding the project one key factor to why it started again is because the government started shopping for other developers. The city itself will have low cost housing starting at $40,000 the main people who are going to be buying up the plot are katangaise and congolese. The developers are not owners of the land, as the lease can be easily made void. The water treatment plant for the city is being built by Congolese engineers.
