Workers connect two pieces of the Prek Phnov bridge in Kandal province’s Ponhea Leu district yesterday. Phnom Penh Deputy Governor Nuon Sameth was to meet yesterday with Cambodian People’s Party Senator Ly Yong Phat, who financed the project, over the collection of toll fees.

It's on Tonle Sab river, a bit far from Chroy Changva,

This bridge function is almost the same with Chroy Changva bridge it connected between Prek Phnov with road #6A.

But it's not for free. It's (BOT), And I don't know how much ? will they charge for a car for one time crossing.

Totally much better then crossing by ferry.

I think not longer they will build the 2nd Chroy Changva bridge because nowaday city hall building the road that connected to Chroy Changva at Chroy Changva distric become bigger (more then double size) then I think the new bridge will come after the said road finished it construction.

And the new ministry of health will move there soon. If I'm not mistaken it's just 10km from Chroy Changva bridge.

The current ministry of health is now at Kampuchia Krom road.

It is open now for uses. From AKP,

AKP/03

New Toll Bridge Opens to Traffic

Phnom Penh, September 20, 2010 AKP --

A new toll bridge built over the Tonle Sap River on the northern outskirts of Phnom Penh was formally put into operation this morning under the presidency of Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen.

The newly constructed bridge worth approximately US$43 million connects Phnom Penh with Mok Kampoul district’s Bakheng commune (Kandal province), which was cut and inserted into Phnom Penh city today.

The historic Prek Pnov Bridge is expected to lessen congested national roads 6A and 5.

The Royal Government of Cambodia has granted rights for the construction of the almost-one-kilometer-long bridge to a local company known as LYP Group under BOT agreement – the company builds the bridge and in return they will operate the bridge fee to generate income for a period of time agreed before they will then transfer the ownership of the bridge to the government. --AKP
