Thanks for the project. The design looks awful though. They should have made it modern!

Wow nice find! . . it's so HUGE (even more than Halawala's pic's) . .don't like the location much, it looks okay for a ministry still too traditional

The site is already kind of 'high' compared to the sea level, so at least these guys will have an amazing view over the skyline... provided this building has windows, which is not sure with this war-like design...hehe.

I think the current building is more like a building were used to seeing everyday, but it is still ugly.

I think the ministry would be rased and there would be gardens on its place.

lool I've been passing by this project almost everyday and since I drive as fast as possible all the time I never had the chance to see the board !!

I agree with halawala, the old building will probably be demolished.

More park land baby go down down down down down (The building off course )

This will make the Emiri diwan have a stronger presence while driving on the corniche.

hahaha xD , yea! i actually think it looks nice for a ministry, especially the centre part. The edges is what i dislike! it makes it look like a prison or a fort

For God sake! Another castle to be built in Doha.. I told you guys Qatar tends to overbuild these kind of chunks. That's why I am sick of "traditional buildings". Damn!
Al Shamal Club is in the shape of a castle
Al Garafa mall is in the shape of a castle
Capital Police H.Q. is in the shape of a castle
Al wakra hospital is too
to name but a few. What other buildings could you remember? This has become the trend now since it's much easier to construct. Just give the job to any new architect with no expertise to do the "design" part & bring some old style adobes for some South Asians to finish it. So cheap in every sense of the word.
I feel like beating those who approved the designs cuz they are uncivilized & know NOTHING about good taste. They surely missed living in Middle Ages.

Correction, its called a fort, not a castle. But your message is clear and I have to agree this is slightly pushing it... it should be restricted to Souq Waqif and Katara.

you forgot to mention the state mosque and we didn't like it first but turned out much better than what we thought.

those are the type of buildings the private engineering office would build, from souq wagif to state mosque to this building, on the other hand, Qatar foundation tend to go with more modern designs, look at education city and Mushireb for example
