Ah. I checked out the area, and is it really called Communications Hill?

I really like those pictures of the stadium construction! Although, technically they should be in the Santa Clara County thread .

Seeing those shots unfortunately reminds me that for some reason the VTA wasn't able to integrate a light-rail station above the Amtrak/ACE station underneath Tasman. The train station is almost halfway between the Convention Center and Lick Mill trolley stations.

I understand. Technically, it is in the jurisdiction of the City of Santa Clara, which is indeed right next to San Jose, but since I wanted to share some of the stadium developments, I did it without any issues. The pivot was another stadium construction right behind Mineta-San Jose International Airport: the Earthquakes Stadium.

Perhaps you can give me a link to that Santa Clara County thread... I'm much more interested though in the city planning and transportation aspects.

I cannot wait for the Quakes stadium. Please send shots if there is any activity down there. I understand the opening is 2014 (start of MLS season) which is 15 months ago or thereabouts.

I could do that, but it means I will need a full-day excursion in San Jose and Milpitas, particularly via Mineta-San Jose International Airport, so that I can view the Earthquakes' new stadium. It needs time for me to prepare the whole trip, from where I get off to how I'll get back.

Does San Jose have height restrictions because it rather close to the San Jose International Airport??

Looks way better than the previous conceptual design.....I also read that they recently got a $20 million donation for the project and want to break ground in 6-7 months.

So that means work for the new Quakes Stadium will start over the summer? Interesting...

I was talking about the NEZ project at Spartan Stadium (SJSU)...Last I heard about the Quakes stadium was that construction should start in-full sometime in late spring.

Oh, the other stadium at SJ State. I remembered passing through that stadium (thinking it was the Municipal Stadium) because I was touring south San Jose at the time on board VTA.

I like the first renderings better. The new ones are too retro for my taste.

You've seen Spartan from 7th Street, right? That style is perfect.

I just got an email stating there will be a meeting about the Japantown Corporation Yard. Anyone have any info on the proposal there?

Interesting, I'd like to know what the meeting is about, especially if it involves a new proposal!

There is construction going on at the Gold Building at 55 Market Street. Does anyone know what is happening there? It is not one of the 2 new banks coming downtown, but the permit is substantial, so there has to be something solid going on.

What are the two banks coming to Downtown San Jose? Are those Chase and Wells Fargo, or is it something else? And I haven't been to DTSJ lately to check out the permit myself.
