Here are my pictures from Japan taken in period of April and May of 2012. I spent three weeks in Osaka, Kyoto, Nara, Hiroshima and Tokyo and tried to catch lovely sights of these places.
Camera is the same like before, Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ8, it is a bit old camera now but I hope you'll like photographs I took with it.
The route to Japan was very tough, I traveled almost 36 hours to Osaka, my first destination. When I reached my hotel it was around 3PM but I went out to see my friend and to start taking photos, of course.
DAY 1 OSAKA - Shinsekai, Dotonbori
Tsutenkaku tower from Tennoji park.
Detailed and original sewer lid like in every Japanese city.
Entrance to Shinsekai, old part of Osaka I knew before very well thanks to yakuza movies.
Shinsekai is filled with small restaurants and shops, colorful billboards are everywhere.
I believe it's referring to offal as "Hormones" and rinds as "fat food." Spit is basically how it's cooked. Regardless, it's still a shitty sign using "and" twice.
Thank you quashlo. Weather was a little bit more rainy than I thought, even my Japanese friends said that was too cold and rainy for spring in Kansai. First five days in Osaka were quite fine but then we had all four rainy days in Kyoto. Next two days in Hiroshima were without rain and then in Tokyo we also had a period of five rainy days in a line.
Later afternoon we spent more than 4 hours at bunraku performance. Photographing in theater wasn't allowed but one of my travel companion took a few pictures. Not a quality ones, bit blurry.
For the third day we decided side trip to Kobe because one my friend lives there. But it happened my friend must worked overtime so my travel companions and I went without Japanese guide and minimal planning before the trip in Japan.
We were a bit lucky finding a Rokko funicular station in north part of Kobe.
Rokko is a small mountain and a good touristic spot. You can reach it by a very steep funicular.
To the summit you'll need about 10-15 minutes of slow drive uphill.
It isn't only track steep but also a funicular itself.
When we reached the summit we picked up a random bus and found ourselves at almost an European scenery.
It was a bit windy for a sightseeing from the tower but...
