Here are my pictures from Japan taken in period of April and May of 2012. I spent three weeks in Osaka, Kyoto, Nara, Hiroshima and Tokyo and tried to catch lovely sights of these places.

Camera is the same like before, Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ8, it is a bit old camera now but I hope you'll like photographs I took with it. :)

The route to Japan was very tough, I traveled almost 36 hours to Osaka, my first destination. When I reached my hotel it was around 3PM but I went out to see my friend and to start taking photos, of course.

DAY 1 OSAKA - Shinsekai, Dotonbori

Tsutenkaku tower from Tennoji park.

Detailed and original sewer lid like in every Japanese city.

Entrance to Shinsekai, old part of Osaka I knew before very well thanks to yakuza movies. :)

Shinsekai is filled with small restaurants and shops, colorful billboards are everywhere.

Octopus based food is the most popular in Osaka.

Not only known for tako but for fugu too.

Classic view to Tsutenkaku tower.

First time I thought about too many billboards, Tsutenkaku is almost not visible.

Smiling god Biriken, protector of Shinsekai, his 'residence' is at the Tsutenkaku.

Another colorful takoyaki stall.

Inefekt, be sure there are lots of them.

Octopus is really a trademark of Osaka.

View from Tsutenkaku tower.

Tsutenkaku is only 91 m high (observatory deck) but building around are much smaller.

Last one from the tower.

Famous advertisement.

Neon lights all night long.

From Dotonbori to Shinsekai. We traced that route every night during our stay in Osaka.

There are plenty of dragons, almost like in Chinatown.

Third dragon in a line.

I wasn't brave enough to try 'Hormones, fat food and spit' menu. :)

DAY 2 OSAKA Osaka-jo and around Bunraku theater

Every day I started from Shin-Imamiya station.

Inside Osaka Loop Line train, similar to Yamanote Line in Tokyo.

Just after entrance to the park around Osaka-jo castle.

Ohanami passed before week but people still like to take some photos of blossomed trees.

Many visitors decided for Osaka-jo even it was an ordinary day in a week.

Thank you quashlo. Weather was a little bit more rainy than I thought, even my Japanese friends said that was too cold and rainy for spring in Kansai. First five days in Osaka were quite fine but then we had all four rainy days in Kyoto. Next two days in Hiroshima were without rain and then in Tokyo we also had a period of five rainy days in a line.

Small shinto shrine in the park around Osaka-jo.

I think that shrine is dedicated to Jizo for children health protection.

Red bibs around stone necks.

Kanji carved in a stone with traces of moss.

Smiling stone statue that looks like a Biriken, protector of Tsutenkaku tower.

Thank you guys. :) Let's continue.

Funny notification sign.

We bought tickets for bunraku performance and headed little bit east from the theater building.

Stone tori at Ikukunitama shrine.

Little oasis of paradise in skyscraper city.

Searching for the interesting parts of Ikukunitama.

Inari fox with red bib.

Shishi lion dog as guardian of the shrine.

Carp flags, kodomo no hi is soon.

Last picture of the 2nd day. Leaving Ikukunitama.

Later afternoon we spent more than 4 hours at bunraku performance. Photographing in theater wasn't allowed but one of my travel companion took a few pictures. Not a quality ones, bit blurry.

DAY 3 KOBE

For the third day we decided side trip to Kobe because one my friend lives there. But it happened my friend must worked overtime so my travel companions and I went without Japanese guide and minimal planning before the trip in Japan.

We were a bit lucky finding a Rokko funicular station in north part of Kobe.

Rokko is a small mountain and a good touristic spot. You can reach it by a very steep funicular.

To the summit you'll need about 10-15 minutes of slow drive uphill.

It isn't only track steep but also a funicular itself. :)

When we reached the summit we picked up a random bus and found ourselves at almost an European scenery.

It was a bit windy for a sightseeing from the tower but...

Kobe Chinatown is actually only one street, Nankinmachi.

Nearby I ate my first dim sum...

... and drank (not the first) Chinese beer.

Nankinmachi is a quite short street so I turned my camera to the details.

Dragons in every corner. :)
