Re the planned icon tower of citygate, hope much taller than DP . (imagine a zip line above Ayala Ave. from Citygate to Primea )

I am guessing 3 floors of retail space or mall. Will there be cinemas?

That area called Makati North is undergoing some massive changes. There are excavations at The Rise and Air Residences sites; and the perimeter fence of the Makati City Gate site has been installed. Alphaland and Lerato condo complexes behind The Columns are in full swing, even close to being topped off. Kroma construction has finally reached above ground; and lo and behold, the eyesore slum colony across the creek near the Makati Medical Centre has been razed to the ground! Now with that ugly abandoned unfinfished JAKA bldg sold off, this boring part of Makati has been given a new lease in life!

Taken 1 Sep 2014. No more unsightly shanties across the creek!

I wonder what will happen to this precious civic space? Hope they turn it into a pleasant park for a change considering that it is next to a hospital.

I'm sure somebody owned it kaya may development ulit dyan soon. Isa pang aabangan sa North Makati is the lot of Tropical Hut and Mercury, for sure once this area gets busy, magiging development din yun.

The area where Ayala Avenue meets Gil Puyat Avenue is called the City Gate, which will be a mixed-use development geared toward the younger set with a creative and edgy atmosphere.
The initial phase will have roughly 81,000 square meters of office space and 14,000 square meters of retail outlets, punctuated by a 312-room Seda hotel. The heart of this development is a 2,600-square meter civic space that will be built vertically through a series of terraces. This will be connected to the Makati Commercial Estate Association’s existing elevated walkway along De la Rosa Street, which will extend to Makati Medical Center. This walkway will traverse all three blocks of City Gate all the way to the other side of Gil Puyat where a pedestrian bridge will cross to the Makati Post Office side.

Ayala Land Launches Citygate

City Gate’s prime address is strategically located along Ayala Avenue making it highly accessible to major thoroughfares such as Sen. Gil Puyat Avenue. Similar to other ALI developments, it will be pedestrian friendly as it will be connected to Ayala Center and the rest of the Central Business District through Makati’s elevated pedestrian walkway.

How they ‘Make it Makati’

The highlight of City Gate will be the Civic Space that ALI will vertically build via a series of terraces. This space will serve as the landing of an extended, elevated walkway that begins from the Mckinley Exchange located beside the MRT Ayala Station.

JAKA Tower was already purchased by Ayala and will be part of the Makati North. They will construct a triple A Office building soon.

How about the old Ayala Life building? I see it being torn down. Is this part of the development?

That concept is planned by Ayala at Circuit, but yeah, I think it would be nice at that junction.

Makati has to fix the flooding issues first instead of moving all resources to the Batangas Hacienda!
