#The Leonardo - 55F (227m) - Mixed Use - Sandton | Under Construction

Thanks Jakes and Zoalbucket for being great detectives

75 on Maude

Africa’s richest square mile is about to get a little richer with the imminent
75 on Maude. The development, the latest in the Legacy Group’s luxury
will meld the concepts of live, work and play, in a single mixed use property
take pride of place on the Sandton horizon.

The building will tower above its peers and has been designed to offer
a retail and business aspect, crowned by exclusive apartments and suites.
Keeping in line with Legacy’s vision to embrace the notion of your dwelling
being an extension of your lifestyle – 75 on Maude will embody exactly
this – in a luxury development reserved for only a discerning few.

Not a big fan of the design, and that last render doesn't seem to scale given the Michelangelo is 34 floors....... But, it's 40 floors !

It looks like a GLH Architects design...almost all of their projects have a similar look about them.

It's pretty much a boxier Michelangelo. Given its the same developer its probably not surprising. These guys hate glass and love terra cotta

The design is hardly final. Even compared to the photos I took at Legacy, the design is substantially different.
There's a lot more glass than the Michelangelo, and as Lydon said in the other thread, it will likely look much better than the renders suggest..

Besides, its 40 floors.. Ill take it

I like it, also it maybe 40 floors but remember, Sandton isnt flat so it could be the same height if not shorter than the Michaelangelo

Another article in the Legacy Magazine about this with some up to date renders that are different from the ones above and the same as the ones I posted in the old thread. This design is slightly better in my opinion

The height will most likely change based on the demand they get

They have the zoning to go up to 40 floors. Those renders suggest a building in the region of 35. Doubt we will get 40

The building while uninspired is not terrible nor special and from a scale perspective is welcome. Glad to see the focus on some high rise living in Sandton. But oh god that roof decor is hideous 90s screaming at us, please let that not feature in what is built.

This is called the Leonardo

Check out the website

http://www.theleonardo.co.za/

It confirms that it will rise 150 metres, taller than the michelangelo

They should have called it the Donatello. Will this one make it? It feels like there are so many residential/office space going up... Who knows
