It is the site next to X1 The Exchange (pictured far right in the visual)

Thanks for that. I wish more developers and Architects would be brave enough to announce their new developments via this forum. Looking forward to further information and renders.

Excellent, that's the final piece of the jigsaw on that part of Trafford Rd near the Tesco & Leisure Centre

Definitely better than the average build quality in this area.

Probably the best proposal I've seen in this area for a while.

Thankyou for sharing!

To me it really does show confidence and aspiration from you that you are willing to share this!

Looks quality! Simple and sleek with some nice intertwining layers! Love the roof terraces as well!

Can anyone point as to where this would be? Thanks

Looks like its next to the Tesco, across the road from Chiquitos/Frankie and Bennys

More pictures.

Their precedent was Vimto Gardens and the Chicago school of architecture

They say in the D&A that the random cladding which has been seen as fashionable recently was disregarded from the start of the design process as a clean and elegant facade was favoured.

Who are you working for hella good? Cause I love them

Look at the size of those windows!

Yep, more of this please Manchester. More and more Chicago-school buildings planned for Manchester recently - it started (with a kiss) with Vimto Gardens, then Angel Gardens, Norton Court and now this - oh and 1 SPS/Motel One to an extent. All very good.

They certainly don't work for Peel!

Thanks for sharing, it's a fantastic design. Huge step up in quality from others in the area.

Nice... Trafford Road is becoming fairly built up these days. Would be nice to see some bulky proposals for the other side of the road.

Glad to see a quality proposal for this part of the Quays. The majority of recent new builds along this stretch of Trafford Road seemed to really be setting a lower precedent for the area, but his takes it right up again.

Hopefully we will eventually see this stretch to the buildings over the road. Once that happens, the standard for this area will well and truly have surpassed the quality that we saw go up in the 80's/90's.

The scale and design quality of this is EXACTLY what is needed on Trafford Rd and other fringe sites of the Quays.
With X1 Media City stretching the skyline and Tomorrow pushing out westwards beyond Dock 9, and height coming to Trafford Road, it creates a frame of density and activity that can kick start the whole area from "Nice on sunny day" to a vibrant secondary centre.

If we can then replace the waterfront sheds on the Trafford bank of the canal and those useless grey prefabs like Telegraph House et al, with quality residential and office we'll be winning. Great step forward this.

It's nice.

However, it appears 'Chicago' is the new random cladding. Expect much much more..

Thankfully the style is timeless and so should look good into the future if handled well - unlike the cheap barcode style dross like the black and white clad apartments at Sillavan Way off Chapel Street and recent equivalents at First Street.
