Clover was not on council then she was the State Member. Nothing in the media about her opposing it as opposed to the Monorail.

I guess she was looking at it as badly needed social housing.

Sometimes Clover and her team are just too much...If anything i wish the Ritz-Carlton was as tall as Crown..

What jurisdiction does Clover have over what happens with Ritz-Carlton? Is it even within the City of Sydney council area?

It is, but I believe this is another of those ‘too big for Clowncil to cope with’ processes that lies wholly within the state government’s remit.

Hence the white noise from Clover and co.

Casino giant Star Entertainment Group will begin slashing up to 400 jobs within days, as weak demand from wealthy offshore VIP gamblers bites the company's bottom line.

Star blamed the continued decline in revenue from super-rich VIPs for driving the slowdown, alongside weaker domestic growth.

To stem the bleeding, the company would axe up to 20 per cent of the backroom staff, saving up to $50 million per year by bringing forward the planned cost savings.

The job cuts will "take out duplication" and affect "virtually every function" including staff in IT, hospitality, HR and finance.

The company said its capital works remain on track, with major developments underway at Queen's Wharf in Brisbane and The Star in the Gold Coast.
