I'm hopeful.

One of my favourite buildings in the whole of the city centre is the Holiday Inn on Aytoun Street. This could be of a similar standard.

You need to explore the city centre more then. Its an ok building, much better in the flesh than render thats for sure.

I'm freelance chap - all I do is explore the city. :-)

The Holiday Inn is fricking beautiful. So clever design wise.

Each to their own I guess.

I work opposite The Sackville Building. Now that is a 'fricking' beautiful building. When the sun hits it in the evening it just glows.

Piling rig now on site and in up-right position.

Will get a pic tomorrow if I can.

Excuse my terrible pic. You can just make the piling rig out behind the drip

There were two piling rigs on site on Sunday. The small one above and a big daddy one.

Are you familiar with the works of Giuseppe Terragni?

Thank god for this project! This area really is nothing more than a depressing spread of car parks. I realy hope there will be plenty more buildings joining this hotel soon.

Oh I found this the other day, didn't know what it was. Urgh, lampposts are the worst.

On an additional note the ring road from where this was taken was shut off at the Rochdale Rd end but traffic could still access from side streets. Maybe ahead of the crane being erected tomorrow? (Not ideal for rush hour traffic) or perhaps it was from today if that's when the base was put in place. All guess work though.
