I don't understand this part
Quote:
Carlos Lamela design and planned Populous give 82 million over the 40 already gives the stadium, the Foster and pointed Hoz additional revenues of 76 million, and the GMP, 52, and Moneo, 45.

Failed updated Populous/Lamela design:

That really was a hideous updated plan from them.

Real Madrid are still in talks with software giant Microsoft over a possible partnership for naming rights, but have ruled out a deal with drinks company Coca-Cola.

Madrid will unveil plans for the €400 million (£330m) renovation of their Santiago Bernabeu home on Friday, with around half of that outlay to be made up in naming rights.

President Florentino Perez has been in talks with Microsoft for some time, while Coca-Cola were also prepared to pay €80m (£66m) per year to have their name on the stadium.

Coca-Cola are already official sponsors of Madrid and the two organisations boast a strong relationship, but the club have currently ruled out naming their ground 'The Coca-Cola Santiago Bernabeu'.

Hasn't changed a great deal, however, the interior looks epic with the extra tier on the one side of the stadium, but I'm not a fan of the exterior at all.

Edit: Hmmm, they've also kept the corner suite towers which restrict some seats, too.

Interesting solution for the roof structure.

They are going to have serious problems maintaining the pitch in any kind of a decent state.

Why don't they built such a new tier?
Would earn more seats

You have this problem in every modern stadium. Too little light and air for the pitch. There are however ways to cope with that problem.

Bayern changes their turf once a year, IIRC.

Is the capacity going to increase with this design?

Allianz Arena has a larger roof opening and is not as tall and therefore takes in considerably more sunlight than the redesigned Bernabeu will, by the looks of it.

And I'm pretty sure that there's no room around the Bernabeu to accommodate a sliding pitch. It's in the middle of a relatively busy and affluent district of Madrid.

I´m sure a club that spends a fortune renovating their stadium for a tiny new amount of seats has some spare change to keep their pitch perfect...

The outside looks great in the renders, let´s hope it will look good in real life.
Really looking forward to that 360º screen!

It is larger, yes, but only by a rather small margin:

Bottom line is that one can upkeep a decent pitch even in a new stadium.
