Not on hold, spoke to Fortune last week, the excavation of phase one to 12m is nearly complete and 2nd phase to 20m is commencing, dewatering is taking place at the same time, they are in final negociations with the main contractor who is expected to come on site next summer.

Well, latest pictures show nothing so it'll stay until real evidence says otherwise, a developer's word isn't sufficient.

How can you say that? Do you know me? How do you know who I know?
FYI - I live in Tokyo, Japan and I met ARUP people at an event last week in Azabu. The president goes to Dubai twice a month.

The design is done. However there may be a delay on the logistics side. I will try to inform people on this forum of any status change I can get.

One sec..

The Burj Al Alam is not currently under construction

It’s just a site that has been 30% excavated.

Question

Why did they start excavation then stop.
The plot if going to be built would still be the same size.
Surely even shoring could have been completed to ensure a construction this decade.

This pic was taken 3 months ago. ARUP already mentioned

ARUP has been involved since the beggining (sort of), the guy (SENJU) said that the managment changed but he didn't made it clear what managment he was referring to.

It is hard for a project to get in to the "on hold" category, and it is hard for a project to get out. They'll have to demonstrate that they really have started back on something significant before this project will get out of "detention". A picture of two guys driving tractors around won't cut it. Hopefully this is the beginning of work starting again. If it is, it will be out of this section soon enough.

Come one,

The plot area combined is

BBA.A05.055 71,644 sqft
BBA.A05.026 69,206 sqft
BBA.A05.027 88,311 sqft
BBA.A05.028 63,725 sqft

That is only two diggers on 292,906 sqft of land
