Let's hope it at least kills off the ridiculous name for this development if nothing else!

X1 Media City

Slight amendment to the plans required, or were the full cladding details reserved?

Also posted in the Salford Quays thread.

Cheers for the larger images flange

I'm loving those. I count 27 stories inc. ground floor. Im guessing approx. 70m (unless the height is the same as original plans, 85.5m and only the exterior design has been amended).

Was hoping X1 would keep to the glass tower element and not create brick cladded towers.

Get them built!! X1 Developments don't hang about.

It looks a little Ian Simpson on a budget, I hope the quality once finished looks as good as the renders. Only seen small projects by X1 like the ones on Chapel St so far.

On the subject of Ian Simpson comparisons it appears to have a very similar cladding pattern to the Beetham.

Absolutely fantastic, much better than the previous proposal for this site.

Will these be the tallest buildings in the Quays then?

It does look like someone literally copy and pasted the bottom half of beetham, still, a project that has actually improved.. wow.

Seem decent enough, where is the parking hidden?

Also, what is it with Salford Quays and having 4 near identical buildings in a row. It's a bit bizarre.

Parking I think is underground and why not have 4 identical buildings in a row. Better than having a mis-match. Looks smarter.

I think they'll be about equal tallest. See the picture above your post? If you're in a tall building and some other tall building sticks up above the horizon, it's higher than you.

Where else does that actually happen though? Certainly not in city centres, which all adds to the kind of strange, wonky vibe the quays have.

Good to hear parking is hidden underground - it always seems to be ground level parking in the Quays.

Yeah, thanks for the lesson on perspective, but none of the buildings in this photo appear taller than where this photo was taken. Look at City Lofts tower on the left, it's much smaller. In fact you can even see the roof.

This reminds me a little of the towers surrounding 1251 Madison Avenue NYC.

X1 MCUK is a project to warrant it`s own thread, ( as was the original plan under a different name) the Quays should continue to stand alone (again various projects in hand) and MCUK given the enormity of present and planned projects should continue to stand alone for ease of reference.

Other parts of Salford weather it be be Central Salford, etc should in my opinion continue to have their own threads (again this would make reference and indentifiabilty easier)

It has its own thread. No point starting a new one.
