Royal London Hospital Towers | Tower Hamlets | 101m/97m | 18 fl

Can't believe we don't have a thread for this. It's one of the tallest u/c buildings in London right now - the core is already rising.

As with 100 Middlesex Street, from certain angles it will bridge the gap between Docklands and the City.

Yep those are the correct construction pics Manuel, and im surprised too there hasn't been a thread on this until now. These towers are replacing the Old Victorian part of the hospital. I think its scheduled for completion by 2012.

The architecture on those is similar to whats just been built on our university and were also having a hospital development but the colours are really vivid. This ones got that hospital look about it aswell. ours is more like a mental home wi the colours of the balconys on the rendering pictures.

The proposed scheme is massive and is going to be have considerable presence on the east end skyline.

That's viewed from the top of City Hall though, by the looks of it. From ground level it shouldn't be too visible.

Can anyone give me the exact location on Google Maps so I can update my 2012 rendering?

There are 2 red cranes just about visible.

Going by DarJoles pic below near Tower Bridge, I can see it is between there and well West of those two different height tower blocks.
image hosted on flickr

Now this image is looking more west than north. I can see those two tower blocks, so it must be further left...I think thats it?

The renderings make them look very short indeed, i would never have guessed 100 meters.

I just hope the cladding is good on these, as the massing is a bit blocky and overbearing. But as it's NHS i don't hold out much hope.

But, nevertheless, i'll reserve judgement, they look quite unoffensive
