Sorta related, but not really. Just a guesstimate what the skyline might look like in a couple of years. When currently UC buildingd and proposals are finished, plus a few other ones that may popup between now and then.

Very related, actually Drunkill. I am always tempted to do that paint-in job to see what it's going to look like, but make the mistake of trying to make my additions too specific. You've gone for that nice hazy distant impression of things from Black Rock, a kind of Arthur Streeton touch.

Very delicate, but valid nonetheless. More!

The amount of development going ahead is amazing. As a Melbourne Victory supporter I'm really looking forward to the new stadium being built. I love the design, only wish it was bigger (although I believe it may be expaneded in future years).

Archi, I know the Power Stn. site render is not final or detailed but are the brown facades blank walls...no windows??? I know they face west so into afternoon sun but imagine having an office on that side with no buildings next door with docklands beyond and windows just facing to the north and south.....?

I think that's been answered before Red. My memory of it from the initial render discussions is that the brown wall on the main 'slab tower and middle are copper screens, protecting windows from wstern afternoon sunlight I guess. Over to Archi ...

First concepts for The Age site look exciting...

My guess as to who the architects are for The Age site: McBride Charles Ryan
Compare with the QV2 apartments, almost identical.

I'm currently a NAB intern and I don't even have my own desk.

Well I do, but it's on the other side of the floor and totally isolated from my team.

Despite building the Docklands headquarters, staff are still spread all over the place - 500 Bourke (old HQ), Enterprise House/555 Collins (the shit brown building between 567 Collins and Rialto which I'm in), 120 Spencer (looks like shit outside but it's very nice inside), 383 Kings St. Plenty of time spent walking/tramming across the CBD to attend meetings and the like.

383 King. I used to work there before I went overseas -- doing customer service. NAB was a stiff organisation to work for -- from an entry level perspective.

Heh yeah, I've spent time in a call centre in that building too. Wouldn't want to be there for too long.

But as far as IT is concerned (and probably various other professional areas) it's a great place to work.

Any idea what the office vacancy rate in melbourne is at the moment, May give an indication of what speculative sites will get up.

Otherwise looks like it is going to be busy in Melbourne over the next couple of years.
