Project description
Maputo International Airport is to be renovated to prepare it for an expected surge in tourists ahead of the 2010 soccer World Cup in neighbouring South Africa.

The project will entail the construction of new passenger and cargo terminals, a control tower and other facilities at the airport.

The aim is to increase the airport's passenger handling from its current 300 000 passengers a year to 900 000 passengers a year, in 2009.

O nome, pelo menos comercial, o que está em letras bem grandes no terminal é: "Aeroporto Internacional de Maputo"

In the future, yes, the current terminal will become the Domestic Terminal, and the new one will be the International Terminal. Right now they have started taking apart the old Cargo Terminal to build the new International Terminal, as seen in the picture

No futuro sim, o actual terminal será o Terminal Doméstico e o novo terminal será o Internacional. Neste momento começou a ser demolido o antigo Terminal de Carga para dar lugar ao novo Terminal Internacional, como mostra a imagem

As part of the modernization and expansion of the Maputo International Airport, the Aeroportos de Moçambique E.P. would like to inform the users of this airport and the general public that from the 2nd of October 2009 until February 2010, the traffic at the airport will be conditioned, due to the remodeling of the parking lot.



Thus, the access and exit roads of the airport will follow the path indicated in the figure below.
