I'm just back from running along the river and there wasn't anything on fire when I was passing that way (honest officer)

Looks like it was the former Balshagray Public School, by Bruce & Hay, 1904. C-listed.

Not a million miles away from Scotway House either, which as I posted in the Buildings Watch thread, had a handily open ground floor window when I wandered past the weekend before last...

Police probe launched after 'wilful' fire in Glasgow building

Not the most tragic but not good none-the-less:

Quote:
olice have launched an investigation into a fire which took hold in a building in Glasgow.

The blaze started in the sixth floor of the building, which was under construction, at around 11pm on Friday evening.

Police Scotland said they are treating the incident as 'wilful' and enquiries have begun.

Firefighters battled through the night to bring the blaze under control, and crews remained at the scene on Saturday morning to dampen down the remaining hot spots.

Nobody was reported as injured in the fire, but a section of Duke Street was closed overnight as the incident was dealt with.

Anyone with any information on the fire can contact the police non-emergency number on 101.

Well, it's taken a while, but it's finally ablaze according to the BBC. Sorry can't get the link to work.

I want to say I'm shocked, but it was always going to happen... Expect a pull down of the building by Sunday
