Croatia is going to enter EU soon, any words on their new plates?

These are the Croatian non-EU plates that are currently in use:

Maybe they will look something like this:

Mongolia

Mongolia use "MNG" on its license plates whereas in international traffic vehicle must use "MGL".

Today I visited a town of Suzdal, where I spotted an old Soviet oldtimer, Moskvich 400.
It had a front license plate of 1958 year series for mopeds (scooters).
95-75 яра (яр = Yaroslavl Oblast).

Link: http://avto-nomer.ru/ussr/nomer73829

The rear license plate was older. It was a plate of 1936 year series for motocycles! Such plates issued till 1947.
ЯО 21-06 (Yaroslavl Oblast).

P.S. All license plates of 1936 year series were sentenced to be totally replaced by newer plates of 1946 year series because of after-war chaos in vehicle accounting.

Yes, they need a plate if they want to cross a border.

There is a legislation bill that wants to make license plates for this kind of vehicles mandatory, but it is in no hurry in the parliament. As far as I know.

In India, commercial vehicles (buses, taxis, etc.) have yellow license plates, while private vehicles have white plates.

This is an example of the kind of plate that will soon become standardized throughout India:

(from Wikipedia)

The first two letters (KA in this case) show where the vehicle was registered. The next two numbers (19) show the Regional Transport Office (RTO) district. The P shows what roll the car is registered in at the RTO. Then at the end there are four numbers. So you can tell from this license plate:

KA 19P 8488

that the vehicle was registered in the RTO at Mangalore in Karnataka state and is number 8488 in roll P. By law, all license plates have to be in Roman letters and Arabic numerals, but in practice they are sometimes written in native scripts and numerals instead.

I like the new Serbian plates.

There must be more new plates than old ones now in Serbia?

I would say that around here (just inside the M25) a bit more than half the cars have the post 2001 system

When is 'soon'? I cannot imagine that it will be very quick.

Since January 1st, 2012 old Serbian license plates will be invalid. It's a one year period in which all vehicles would replace their plates.
