Epirus Lux Palace Hotel
-Unique in his category in the wider region of north-western Greece. Built in extent of 20 acres, it allocates 54 luxurious rooms, completely equipt, and with splendid suites. Particular accent should be given to the Banqueting Halls, and Conference Rooms where the capacity exceeds the 1100 persons. In his installations are included three bars, parking for 400 cars and a lot of green countryside. The element that dominates in the communal spaces are the Murano chandeliers and the handmade furnitures, with carved surfaces covered from leaves leaves of gold.

To be honest, I would really wanna have a house in Kaphalonia or Lesvos.

But, at this moment I will not buy one.

1) I have not one week for vacation for now.

2) I do not want to live with people in my vacations.

As soon as I may find vacations, I am planning to get a sailing boat.

But yes, for summer house, Cephalonia and Lesvos are the best.

Fine Places to Stay in Greece

Inspired by the magical Imaret Hotel in Kavala, this thread is about character-filled, atmospheric hotels in Greece that offer more than just a bed and a balcony.

Capsis Bristol Thessaloniki

The Capsis Bristol Hotel, located in the heart of Thessaloniki’s historical district, is an exquisite combination of past and present. The building (1870) was the city’s post office. In 1917, this masterpiece of 19th century architecture was miraculously saved from a catastrophic fire that destroyed a major part of the city.
The Bristol name brings a history of its own to the hotel and a tradition originating in Bristol, England whereby each city is entitled to only one hotel with the name Bristol.
The Capsis Bristol is an amazing two-story building renovated to capture the spirit of 19th century Macedonia. A spectacular marble stair case links the gracious reception area to the hotel’s 16 elegant rooms and 4 suites on the upper floor.
A collection of fine furnishings, antiques, luxurious fabrics in red, green and blue, handmade oriental carpets, lustrous hardwood floors and handcrafted furniture create an atmosphere of delicate refinement. A sunlit atrium decorated with original wall paintings is the venue for a sumptuous breakfast buffet. You will enjoy fine dining at the hotel’s gourmet restaurant and bistro bar is ideal for socializing. With magnificent style and atmosphere, Capsis Bristol brings you all the pleasures of a 21st century luxury hotel.

La Soare Nympheo

In the local dialect of the Nympheo, La Soare means “facing the sun.” In the mountains, the sunniest place is the warmest, most hospitable. The name, itself, inspired the Boutari family to give new meaning to this precious ancestral home.
Michael Tsirlis, a local resident who lived and worked many years in Egypt, built this impressive manor house in Nymphaio in 1925. He was a relative of the grandfather of Yannis Boutari, wine producer.
With great respect for the ambience of the home, many precious pieces of furniture were carefully restored for the enjoyment of guests. In a perfect blend of the traditional and new, La Soare has truly become an ideal escape offering warm and hospitable moments.
High ceilings, spacious rooms, a lounging area, the original, large kitchen and beautiful courtyard are all open to guests.

Argentikon Chios

Selected among the 100 best villas in the world, the Argentikon is a perfect example of medieval, Genoese architecture in the Levant. Located in a lovely plain (Kambos) on the rich, green island of Chios in the northern Aegean, the Argentikon was built in the 16th century by the Argenti family. Step through the elaborate bronze and copper doors into a timeless world of noble tranquillity. Exquisite, Ligurian gardens unfold before your eyes where you expect to hear the sound of a carriage or horses returning from the hunt. Hundreds of multicoloured, old, rose trees surround olive groves and plantations of orange trees. Walking paths with arcades, flowers, benches and birds spark the imagination to an era when nature was cultivated by artistry. Two beautiful wells with fountains are a tribute to a past method of irrigation. The estate consists of four residences (family members lived on the estate in private quarters) where the luxury suites are located; the main palazzo was built in 1550.
Each suite is uniquely individual embracing the style and furniture of the period, with fireplace, chandelier and lovely appointments. The restaurant is in a class of its own with gourmet cuisine using only the freshest local ingredients and the finest products from around the world. The Argentikon combines old world craftsmanship with 21st century amenities for a rare experience to share the life and times of the nobility in the Middle Ages in Greece.

Ilion Nauplion

The Ilion, in the heart of Nafplion, is housed in a 300-year-old building, which was once the residence of the Mayor of the city.
The historical heritage of Nafplion, the first capital of modern Greece, is felt in the elegant atmosphere of the hotel, which was previously a noble, city home.
Just a few years ago, its present owners renovated the Ilion with great respect for the original architecture and craftsmanship opening its doors for guests to enjoy luxurious relaxation.
Each of the ten suites has an individual theme based on Greek mythology. Through a marvelous play of colours and the refinement of beautiful antiques from the owner’s collection, a magical world of gods, nymphs and heroes blends with all modern comforts for your enjoyment.

Villa Galini Chalkidice

Sitting proudly in the embrace of Meliton Mountain’s deep forest and vineyards within the renowned estate of Porto Carras, Villa Galini, majestically crowns the Sithonia bay offering a healingly view to the Aegean Sea. Inspired by a legendary Greek Ship-owner to host the family’s distinguished guests, Villa Galini is an exceptional sample of architecture and masterful artwork carried by the best architect and Greek craftsmen of its period.

Extending on a surface of two thousand square meters, the villa is designed after the striking monasterial architecture of Mount Athos with a marvelous inner courtyard, secluded patios and verandas, while all exterior windows overlook the bay and the mountains. Spacious suites and rooms with living areas and walk in closets, bathrooms with hand made tiles, all unique in their style and decoration, have repeatedly hosted famous artists, politicians, royals and socialites of and era such as Salvador Dali, Gina Bahauer, Melina Merkouri, Rudolph Nourejev and many others.

Aigialos Santorini

The Aigialos Collection consists of sixteen, renovated neoclassical houses that were originally the fine homes of the island’s noble captain families. The architecture and design of the houses bring to life the traditional way of life of the island’s nobility. Restored to perfection by master masons using local volcanic stone and coloured lime plaster, the houses are linked by cobbled walkways. Situated on the rim of the caldera, sheer cliffs that rise from the sea, the hotel overlooks the island’s famed volcano.

A lovely setting highlights the unique beauty of the Cycladic island characterised by stark white buildings adorned with a dash of bright colour set against a backdrop of brilliant blue sky and sea.

The Aigialos Collection, with each house named after the Aegean winds, is as enchanting as Santorini. Each house is tastefully furnished in the style of the island harmoniously blended with antiques and furnishings brought back from travels at the old world. Beautiful touches, marble floors and all amenities provide a relaxing atmosphere for pure enjoyment.

Pool and poolside bar, counter swim unit, gourmet restaurant – and bar to begin magical nights on the legendary island of Thira.

Semiramis Kifissia

Semiramis, Karim Rashid’s first hotel project, is a fusion of Rashid’s influence and owner Dakis Joannou’s vision and own dedication to the modern art world. Mr. Joannou, an eminent collector, patron of modern art and qualified architect, commissioned Karim Rashid to create a hotel that will offer more than extra bed space in Athens.

The Semiramis is an intimate hotel that focuses on positive energy, heightened experiences, culture, art, and design. It is a place for new contemporary experiences, to enjoy, work, and relax in a truly memorable way. The 52-room hotel, designed by Karim Rashid is Athens' design-inspired hotel, offering a new intimate alternative to modern travellers.

Located in the affluent and leafy suburb of Kifissia, Semiramis is in the heart of evolving Athens, surrounded by high-end boutiques, restaurants, and cafes. Set 340 meters above sea level, the hotel offers an oasis from the humidity of central Athens.

Visiting guests will have the chance to experience a 21st-century creation: from the curve in a desk to the light-box installation behind the beds, Semiramis combines art with bricks and mortar. Comfort and functionality rank high in the design brief and the hotel will offer the complete gamut of services.

I have stayed at the Fresh hotel (above) several times. I will always go back. The design, the friendly staff and service, cleanliness, and central location make it my favorite. Very relaxed and friendly.
