I think theres roughly 10 :dunno: They initially anounced 40 as their target but have had massive delays mainly due to land expropriation and municipal governments draging their feet :bash:

Lukoil has about 150 gas stations in BG and just bought 75 more from Petrol. They are getting too big over here.

Well they seem really eager to build them up fast but as i said they had unforseen delays. Regarding the purchace of one of your chains they tried that here too a couple of years ago with a takeover of makpetrol (roughly 150 stations) but luckily it fell through. You dont want to switch a domestic monopoly with a foreign one it achieves nothing....

After Gostivar, there is no more highway, the road is getting into a mountainous area, as it continues towards Mavrovo and Ohrid. Almost half of the section between Gostivar and Kicevo, the road is 2+1.

At the end, a very old sign, from the times when all we were Peoples Republics. Note that it is written NR Albanija/PR of Albania. This is the last intersection in Macedonia, before the border.

Bad shape is part between Gorica and Sv. Naum actually there is not enough place in the lane for driving because of the cars parked next to the beaches.

That is correct, that is why they have to build the new road from Ohrid to Sv. Naum, on the hills, so the beaches and villages are avoided.

I'm from Timisoara, Romania and am planning to visit your lovely country maybe next year. Til now, from the Balkan countries, I was just in Serbia, and only north, north-west and east of Belgrade.

Parts of the roads I saw here, some not, do you maybe have some pictures for these sections http://goo.gl/maps/y6Dj and http://goo.gl/maps/5dmI ?

In my plan I covered Mavrovo and Galicica national parks, but for Pelister I didn't find much regarding the roads etc. Anyway it's nothing final, maybe you also have suggestions.

By skipping Debar, you mean skip the city itself, or the whole route through Mavrovo National Park?

I am interested in the roads with beautiful view, they must not be the fastest roads, if they are worth it, only be safe to drive.
You should regard the destinations in the map as pin points, not as sleepovers, maybe short stops, except Skopje and Ohrid.

^^ I also think you should skip the city of Debar, but do drive through Mavrovo National Park. I did it a few years ago and the scenery is stunning. While in the park, make sure to stop at St Jovan Bigorski Monastery.

Yes that is Krusevo. The road is not perfect, but the landscape is great and the town itself.
Debar town itself is awful, but on that route you have to visit Manastir Sveti Jovan - Bigorski (monastery) and the village Galičnik is very pictures with beautiful view.

You should know that we are used with bad or bumpy roads in Romania, also with driving through villages, as we have very little "autostrazi" compared with the size of the country...
