Interesting how they cut up LA into separate entris of LA/BHills/Newport (altho Newport is technically OC)

Also interesting that Hong Kong is the CITY-STATE with the most billionaires :)
Are the Hong Kong billionares mostly living in Hong Kong Island?

Most likely especially the Peak. But I think some of them would live in The New Territories somewhere around Clear Water Bay.

Anyway, I think the most significant ones are Li Ka Shing, Dickson Poon, Richard Shaw, Nina Wang and more.

List of Hongkongers by net worth

Forbes magazine annually lists the world's wealthiest individuals - The World's Richest People. What follows is the list of billionaires (in US dollars) in Hong Kong, for 2005, not including heads of state whose wealth is tied to their position. See the list ranking heads of government and state.

1. Li Ka Shing - 21 - $13.0 billion
2. Walter, Thomas and Raymond Kwok - 30 - $10.9 billion
3. Lee Shau Kee - 37 - $9.3 billion
4. Robert Kuok - 96 - $5.0 billion (Malaysian, residing in Hong Kong)

And Rolls-Royces, Mercedes Benz etc...

interesting math hkskyline...

here in the city of beverly hills, population roughly 30,000, we have according to the posted list above 7 billionaires:

7/30000 = 0.000233 billionaires per capita

even san francisco with only a population of roughly 770,000 with 20 billionaires:

20/770000 = 0.000026

HK possesses a very impressive list topping many a city in the world in both per capita and highest numbers, trumping paris-tokyo and many others. don't get me wrong as (you know) i'm a fervent supporter/believer in the city, however city of la roughly half the population of HK also with 1 more billionaire... and what about tiny palm beach or monaco or palo alto or ??

:)

The per capita figures are based an economy-wide analysis, rather than a city analysis. So Hong Kong is ranked first among entire economies, such as the US, UK, etc.
No person from the mainland are worth more than 1 billion?

I find that strange. I know it's calculated the way hkskyline said, but HK's billionaire/per capita trumps that of NY, London, LA etc's metro areas.

Is Beverley Hills really another city or is it just part of LA's metro area?

Because then you can compare it directly with the Peak, where it would probably lose out.
beverly hills is its own city within the county of LA, which would sort of make it like if The Peak were its own distinct city vis a vis rest of HK as another entity--

still not sure how this list is calculated though-- hk, are you saying its comparable figures of each individual city's gnp? but if that's the case how could any city compare with a city-state such as HK? that said, doesn't monaco by that standard trump hk??

the Forbes list is just a "who (as a billionaire) lives in what city in the world", yes??
BTW, it's interesting how the Kuok family was listed under HK instead of Malaysia.
How many trillionaires does it have in HK? :D :jk:
