I have to admit that while I don't have high hopes for this development (Pinnacle), I do like the way it bends with the street as evident in the 2nd picture.

Thanks for the update!
i guess they have to build all four pinnacle towers at the same time or at least the underground garages of the other two because they cant leave that big hole
I think Pinnacle could end up looking better than the glass slab rendering.
Wow!These buildings are gonna be huge.18 Yonge being 38 storeys and Pinnacle 37 storeys. I can't wait for them to start rising. Too bad that condo towers have actually minimal impact on a skyline. :( Just look at HVE, the tallest one is almost 500 ft. and it barely makes an impact on the skyline if you see them from afar.

Also, I hope that the parking lot across the street from these buildings get developed too.
Thanks for the update!

What is the hole in middle for? Also, note how wide the sidewalks will be fronting Yonge. Nice.
Yeah Pinnacle looks like it'll have a podium hugging the street nicely.
I think the hole is for a lightwell - probably for an undergound pick-up and drop-off area. I think The Liberties at College Park has a similar underground drop-off facility.
But I just remembered that the complex will have a driveway courtyard - so if that level is at grade it could be for a two-storey retail space - tough to tell from the angle.
18 Yonge should have offered personal off-ramps from the Gardiner directly into condo units on the 4th floor as options.

Oh no...I have a better idea...they could have a little crane that plunks your car on the Gardiner, or picks you off...wouldn't that be cool?

Take a look at the link. Here you can see everything about amenities etc,
even virtual tour which I found very exciting:

So, is there like an accelerator lane, or are you just plunked into traffic, and it's your job to fend for yourself?

Not necessary - just reverse the charge on the magnet holding the car

Or you can choose plain carriers catapults
Well, Pinnacle is about to release its 2nd Tower which is 30 storeys tall. I saw a pic of the rendering on emporis but that page is no longer availabe because of the errors (I bet that its just a lame way to get people topay for the total access). It doesn't look a complete glass slab like the 1st tower, it looks liek something that is truly out of Vancouver that's for sure.

I think that Pinnacle should sell out this building and the just build the other two (41 & 45 st.) as rental projects, regarding how long it took the first tower to sellout.
Here comes the crane

Wow...a crane has come on the Pinnacle B site and I was there
to catch that moment with few shots:

An interesting, unknown detail regarding Pinnacle... A bridge was planed to conect Pinnacle complex with neighbouring "World Trade Centre",
but was rejected unfortunately.

18 YONGE UPDATE

18 Yonge, as you can see it, is proceeding very slowly in comparison to
Pinnacle. Even though they started earlier Pinnacle is ahead 5 storeys.

Great update. Thanks Istrian.
With projects like these two towers, the Gardiner will become one of the most scenic urban drives in NA. I guess we should save it ;)

Honestly though, what a drive that will be. Can't wait. I wonder what sort of wind conditions might arise from having six lanes of traffic running at 100km/h through a gap of 30+ stories?
Great pics! Thanks.

It's incredible how fast Pinnacle is going up. And I have to agree about the drive along the Gardiner. It's already quite the sight driving East from the DVP.
With Pinnacle, 18 Yonge, Infinity, Maple Leaf Square, Harbourview, West One, Malibu, Waterparkcity, West Harbour City, etc it's going to get even better!
In years to come, the scenery along the Gardiner will most certainly be amazing.
I hope that every parking lot near the gardiner gets developed. Including the third phase of the Water Park Place office complex approved at 350 ft. tall
