SEATTLE - Three construction workers were injured when a crossbeam fell at a construction site at Second and Union in Downtown Seattle Wednesday afternoon.
Officials say they were part of a team in the process of putting up crossbeams in the metal flooring to create the superstructure when one of the crossbeams gave, falling on the three works.
The men, one 30 years old; the others were 26, were all taken to Harborview with broken bones and possible abdominal injuries, but none of the injuries were considered life-threatening.
People at the site reported hearing a loud crashing noise and the whole structure shook. No word yet on what caused the collapse.
The construction is part of the expansion project for the Seattle Art Museum and the new Washington Mutual Tower.
