looks like a massive development -especially for that corner of the city.
is 56 storeys even allowable according to the latest 'official plan'?

Holy Smokes! This section of downtown has really come into some urban redevelopment in the past decade. I think developers have finally gotten over their fear of St James Town.
First Regent Park, now St. Jamestown. The fire in the east downtown, continues to spread. More density equals lively streets. The more, the better.

I imagine an old neighbourhood would most likely need to take a hit in order to accommodate such a large development. Based on those PDF drawings, the towers look pretty dull.

Potentially a very, very positive development for a long abandoned part of town. If this project helps stitch a little part of the city back together, I'm all for it. Waiting for more info.

I think council is afraid of a collection of buildings this high. I doubt they will aprove the current proposal as it stands.

"The official plan seeks density, density, DENSITY!!! As long as it isn't too dense or cast too many shadows...."
