Ooh, I love 7 ELEVEN :)

I think Taiwan is the fourth biggest market for 7 11 (after Japan, USA and Thailand). Taiwanese people really love their 7 11.

Go 7 ELEVEN :)

Other countries may have more 711s than Taiwan, but in terms of number of possible customers per store, Taiwan has them beat easily.

Indeed. I can't speak for Japan or Thailand but the 711s in US are no different than other convenient stores. The 711s in Taiwan just feel more... special.
According to wiki, Taiwan is host to MORE THAN FOUR THOUSAND branches/stores of 7-11 as of December 31, 2006 (making them the fourth biggest 7-11 market in the world by location count). That's around 8-9 square kilometers per store :)

Taiwanese people really love their 7-11 stores......and with more than four thousand locations, they are everywhere. This proves it:

In this case, the 7-11 stores shown here are like a strong glimmer of light amidst the darkness :)

P.S.
A bit of trivia:
Uni-President Corporation/President Chain Store Corporation (the one in-charge of all 7-11 stores in Taiwan) is now a majority stakeholder of Philippine Seven Corporation (the franchise holder of 7-11 in the Philippines). Hehe long live the 7 ELEVEN empire!!!!!!!!:D

7-11s should be replaced by famima! they're way classier. :)

Hehe.........but they already exist (somehow) in Taiwan. It's just that they exist under the name of the Japanese parent company

Familymart in Taiwan also has a strong presence.......but their location network is just half of what 7-11 has over there (i.e. Familymart Taiwan only has 2000 stores as of year 2009)

It's only in South Korea I think that FamilyMart has more than twice the number of 7-11 stores (in the whole of South Korea).

tbh, i'm a fan of seven-eleven stores meyself, whenever you 'd like to have a drink or a snack, they're there. we don't have such a service in europe. and their stores have a warm atmosphere which makes you good...

but i've never known if 7-11 is an american or japanese coporation??
The majority shareholder is Japanese now so it should be considered a Japanese corporation. It originated in the US though.

oh...thanks for answering!:)
i almost never shop at 7-11 in the states. when i need something i drive to the closest grocery store. 7-11 stores are very sparsely located here. they are not within 'walking distance' from anyone. in fact, i don't even know where the closest 7-11 is..
There's a 7-11 that I pass by in San Diego often and I have to keep reminding myself that I'm not in Taiwan.

san diego has tons of 7-11s. i live there now! :)
Not in my end of San Diego. Boy, is La Jolla glorious.
I miss my Taiwan 7-11 :(
It's just not the same feeling here in the states.
In Taiwan, the 7-11 shop will greet the customers by saying "welcome" (in Mandarin) in a unique tone, they actually sing it.
