The proposal, which goes before the Planning Commission tomorrow, calls for the demolition of a 1960s office building and parking lot to make room for a pair of residential buildings designed by Solomon Cordwell Buenz. The buildings—reaching nine stories on Folsom and four stories on Shipley Street—will be connected at the ground floor. The mix includes up to 114 residences (47 two-bedrooms, 59 one-bedrooms, and 8 junior one-bedrooms), most with a private balcony or patio, 1,560 square feet of commercial space, up to 80 parking spaces (including stackers) and 100+ bike parking spots, a courtyard midblock, and a roof deck. The project sponsors are opting to include 14 below-market-rate units onsite . . . .
