Okay so the draw has just been done for the next version of the Asian Champions League, so it's time for another thread. Please try to keep it in the other thread for now I suppose (Sydney FC and Perth Glory supporters excepted).

So to the ACL Draw which see Melbourne Victory and Sydney FC representing Australia.
West Asia

Group A
1 Al Hilal (KSA)
2 Al Gharafa (QAT)
3 Al Jazira (UAE)
4 Sepahan (IRN)

Group B
1 Esteghlal (IRN)
2 Al Nassr (KSA)
3 Pakhtakor (UZB)
4 Winner of West Play-off

Group C
1 Al Wahda (UAE)
2 Piroozi (IRN)
3 Al Ittihad (KSA)
4 Bunyodkor (UZB)

Group D
1 Al Rayyan (QAT)
2 Emirates (UAE)
3 Zob Ahan (IRN)
4 Al Shabab (KSA)

East Asia

Group E
1 Jeju United (KOR)
2 Melbourne Victory (AUS)
3 Gamba Osaka (JPN)
4 Tianjin Teda (CHN)

Group F
1 Hangzhou Greentown (CHN)
2 FC Seoul (KOR)
3 Winner of East Play-off
4 Nagoya Grampus (JPN)

Group G
1 Cerezo Osaka (JPN)
2 Shandong Luneng (CHN)
3 Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors (KOR)
4 Arema FC (INA)

Group H
1 Sydney FC (AUS)
2 Winner of Emperor’s Cup or Kashima Antlers (JPN)
3 Shanghai Shenhua (CHN)
4 Suwon Samsung Bluewings (KOR)

Melbourne Victory's group is a group of Runner Ups, so overall a pretty tough group but one they could be expected to push to progress from. Would probably be the most hotly contested group in East Asia.
Sydney FC's group looks a touch easier, With either the 4th place J-League team (Kashima) or if somebody wins the Emperors Cup who isn't already qualified, the 3rd place Chinese team and the Korean FA Cup winners who only came 7th in the league, however did make the 1/4 finals of the ACL.

Apparently Group A is the Group of Death.

Game Dates can be found here: http://images.the-afc.com/Documents/comps/2011/ACL2011_match_schedule.pdf

So bump time.....
Sydney FC/Melbourne Victory both well, lets be honest, sucked in the ACL. Sydney FC only picked up 5 points on their way to coming 3rd in their group. Melbourne Victory sacked their coach after the first game and managed to get up to 6 points on their way to coming last in their group.

So anyways lets talk about A-League 2011/12.
The draw is going to be announced on Fox Sports News at 12.30pm eastern tomorrow. So far GCU have leaked their home draw which is as follows:
Sunday 9th October 2011 1 Wellington Phoenix 4.00pm
Sunday 30th October 2011 4 Newcastle Jets 4.00pm
Friday 11th November 2011 6 Adelaide United 7.00pm
Friday 18th November 2011 7 Melbourne Heart 7.00pm
Monday 26th December 2011 12 Brisbane Roar 6.30pm
Sunday 8th January 2012 14 Melbourne Heart 5.30pm
Sunday 15th January 2012 15 Wellington Phoenix 5.30pm
Friday 27th January 2012 17 Central Coast Mariners 7.00pm
Wednesday 1st February 2012 17 Melbourne Victory 7.00pm
Sunday 12th February 2012 19 Adelaide United 6.45pm
Saturday 25th February 2012 21 Melbourne Victory 6.45pm
Sunday 18th March 2012 24 Perth Glory 5:30pm
Sunday 25th March 2012 25 Brisbane Roar 5.30pm

From this with Brisbane and Gold Coast not scheduled to play in the first round we can presume a Grand Final rematch in round 1, so Brisbane Roar v Central Coast Mariners.
The rest we will of course learn tomorrow. A known feature of the draw will apparently be a round of fixtures played at Regional Venues.

Yeah MV v Sydney would be pretty likely in R1 as well.
I do believe Adelaide United are going over to Perth in Round 1 as well. Which leaves Newcastle to play Melbourne Heart.
I think the FoxSports announcement mentioned derbies in the first month, so should see a Melbourne, F3 and SEQld derby in the frist couple of rounds as well.

Though the midweek games didn't really work from a fans in the stadium perspective, it was great for TV. I actually got the mid week games and loved them. Hopefully we can develop a mid week game culture, maybe it would work better for them to play these in regions at smaller stadiums.

Sooo H isn't coming to the A-League after all. At least not next season anyway. Mandic come up with a pretty crazy deal where Harry would get a cut of the gate for any additional bums on seats. Asking other clubs for some of their gate takings is ridiculous. Mandic has always been known as a shonky, greedy prick..... Just ask Leeds fans.

Anyways, I'm happy that Harry won't be playing for the tards next year. Seeing Solorzano in their kit will be bad enough.

How much money does Kewell need for playing football? He must be rich beyond most peoples dreams now. Surely it couldn't hurt to take a couple of years on what would still likely be very good wages ($1m a year), and even further boost the profile of the A League and football in Australia.

Around 20,000 for the CCM vs Celtic game, not too bad for an out of season game. Would probably have been better to have played it at Gosford or the SFS. I expect the Melbourne game will have a bigger crowd, lots of Celts in Victoria.

Mate, Bernie Mandic is the one driving it all. Harry has been brainwashed by him over the years. Every transfer he's involved in turns into a saga. TBH, there's no garantees with a contract like the one they're proposing. If the crowds don't come, he gets **** all.

Mandic's a king of spin and that's what gets Harry front page news when nothing actually happens. What he tells the public and what happens would be two very different stories.

He'd be doing everything he can to get a guarantee clause in there of some description. He wouldn't do a deal like that where there is a chance of him missing out on a pay check.
