A senior adviser to John McCain, the Republican presidential candidate, has apologised for saying a major terrorist attack in the US before November's election would benefit McCain.

Charlie Black, a political adviser to McCain, told Fortune magazine that such an attack "certainly would be a big advantage to him".

Black apologised in a statement on Monday after McCain said he disagreed with the remarks.

Terrorism is a LIE it's a tactic that has no face, no money, no homeland and no end in sight. It's what the Government has been doing to it's own people for thousands of years. Nero burned Rome to blame the Christians right up through 911
