Hello Carlos. Welcome to Toronto!

I am very familiar with this area as I used to work in the Kipilng and Rexdale Blvd. area which is about 2-3 kilometers east of Humberwood.

Humberwood borders between the regions of Malton and Etobicoke. The area is undergoing some modernization and development with new condo projects going up. It is also near the well-known Woodbine Race Track and Slots Casino. I will be honest with you and say that the Kipling and Rexdale area is not the greatest area and it does have some violence, mostly associated with the Somali youths that live in the area. That said, Humberwood is about 3 kilometers west of there and the area is much better, especially now that the new developments are taking place.

That's all I know for now. If anything else comes up, I'll message you.

Cheers!

I was just working on a site in Humberwood right by the bus loop on Humberwood boulevard. From the couple of days I spent working there, it seemed like a perfectly safe neighbourhood. Its the areas east of Highway 27 that are a bit shadier.

keep in mind that in general there are very few areas in the city that you should avoid living in, few enough that I could probably count them on one hand.

Or, message him for more information. Just to let you know, that particular animated "bash" smilie you chose indicates you are angry with the person; Leaf is trying to help you! ;)
Hi TB! He did message me and I am working on a reply for him! :)

When I saw the smilie I must admit I thought he must have been upset or something but, on the contrary, he had questions for me and I am reaching out to him with answers.

Hi Carlos, nice to have another Mexican in the city :)

If in the future you move more towards the south you'll find safer areas and better transit!

Humberwood is not really known as a dangerous area in itself. I have a friend who lives there and I've never felt weird walking around the neighbourhood. That being said, it's very close to the crappy parts of Rexdale, and the Dixon Somali gang corridor (between Kipling and Islington) is not that far. However, my parents live in Kingsview Village (directly north of the corridor, it's also where Rob Ford's alleged crackhouse is), and there are no issues in their neighbourhood despite the proximity to "Little Mogadishu" and Rexdale. All in all, don't worry too much about Humberwood. It's not the ghetto or anything, you'll be fine Carlos.

Agreed. Pretty much what I was trying to convey. I wasn't trying to scare him or anything....

Thank you so much to all of you, so kind to help me out :)
Really ? Is there a "small Mogadishu" ? I didn't know that...
What other places should I avoid visiting ? I only know about jane and finch, why is it so bad ? What's the matter in that place ? and I'm not sure about this neighbourhood called Kensington market, I don't know if it is dangerous but I've been there at night and it smells like pee and rotten fruit there's trash all over the sidewalk, neglected buildings and wired guys on the street.
