Béarn is a province in SW France. One of my hobbies is touring the countryside in order to take photos of peasants and pieces of vernacular architecture.

That's one of my perversions. I take photos of them then I send them. They're generally happy with it (they sometimes cry) : nobody ever cares of them. Some of those peasants don't even have electricity.

Like a safari ? :D
Actually, I only want to pay tribute to a disappearing civilization. Modernity (rurbanity, rationalized agriculture whether industrial or biological, ...) condemns those life styles. With them, a whole culture will die. That's pretty sad.

But one of the men told me that if they did not look that archaic, I wouldn't take photos of them. That's the point I presume. I do acknowledge my sordid attraction.
