Which aerial tramways exist in Romania? ( An aerial tramway is the mean of transport you can see on http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aerial_tramway ).
Please post also pictures and technical data ( length, year of built, number and height of support towers, etc.) of them.

There are a few, but I don't know the details right now:

- Brasov-Tampa (a small hill near the city of Brasov, less than 1000 m high). There is/used to be a restaurant up there.
- Balea Cascada - Balea Lac: In the Fagaras Mtns. Goes from 1400m to 2000m. The cabin is quite small and the pillars were a bit rusty when I last saw them. I would be a bit scared to use this one. Rendered useless (mostly) after the construction of the Transfagarasan road.
- Poiana Brasov - Postavaru/Cristianu Mare. They replaced these with a higher capacity gondola system AFAIK.
- Sinaia - Cota 1400: there is a hotel at Cota 1400.
- Cota 1400 - Cota 2000.
- Busteni - Babele: This is by far the most impressive one. It goes from 900m to 2200m on the Bucegi Plateau. The scenery is fabulous. Unfortunately, its capacity is far too low for the huge queues of tourists.
- Babele - Pestera: It descends on the other side of the Bucegi Range to the Ialomitei Cave. A monastery has been built in the mouth of the cave, it is pretty cool. There is a hotel there too.
- Mamaia gondolas: This one was recently built, it provides a panoramic view of the seaside resort of Mamaia.

Feel free to add those I don't know about or forgot to include.

I've heard rumours that another was built in the Rarau Mtns. in Moldova, from Campulung Moldovenesc, but I'm not sure. Can anyone provide more information about this?

^^ and two pictures

The (only) "unique" thing about Piatra-Neamt gondolaS(telegondolaS) is that it crosses over/above the town … from railway station straight to Cozla mountain

^^ Also, the same (above ZA town) for future (approved and contract awarded ) ^^ "cable-car betweent 2 mountains cozla and pietricica"

Piatra-Neamt (all areas still U/C)
^^

^^ Back to ... departure point (Railway Station)

* sorry for hijacking the thread
^^No problem. It's actually a LOT more impressive then I thought, as it crosses above the city before going up the hill.

It seems you have a good mayor in Piatra Neamt if something like this was built. Or am I wrong?
^^ Overall is a good mayor …the best we’ve ever had.
BTW these are some of future projects ... see mainly from page 20 onwards

Yay, the gondola to Cota 1400 is finished! Are there any other gondolas under construction in the area?

Now this is a bit OT: does anyone know anything about the Piscu Cainelui chalet (seen in the left of the image, on the other side of the valley). From what I heard and seen, it was given (retrocedata) to a businessman :eek:hno:, can we still go there as tourists? The view there was great.

I hope our politicians didn't steal our own country and natural beauties from us in this case also.
