It is all of those things, kind of like a theme park. Although, make sure to get out of the town, there is a ton of nature to see and not really that much in the town other than a few historical (and very interesting) sites. It really is a great place for anyone interested in the history of the gold rush era in Alaska and the Yukon.One day I will make a cruise trip to Skagway with my babe. It looks very inviting, clean and well mantained.

I was in Skagway about 2 years ago. The town was ok but hopping on the train and getting off to hike the Laughton glacier was the best.
