What is the expected opening date of Algiers tram?

Why Algiers closed tram during the sixteis and why are they now returning them?

Is Algiers renamed to Jazair?

The algiers tramway will be operationnal in 2010. The first Tramway was stopped on 1960, before the independence. Nowadays, the government try to decongest the capital and finding new means of transportation, such as the metro.

the first section (from "Les fusillés" to "Bordj el kifan") is supposed to open by the beginning of 2010.
