In this thread I'll try to show you the big number of Brazilian cities that have a decent skyline.

I will initially post just one picture per Metro Area. I won't post pictures of cities in the same Metro Area, only the main city of the Metro Area.

Some of the cities that will show:

1 - São Paulo
2 - Rio de Janeiro
3 - Belo Horizonte
4 - Porto Alegre
5 - Salvador
6 - Recife
7 - Fortaleza
8 - Natal
9 - Curitiba
10 - Belém
11 - Goiânia
12 - Uberlândia
13 - Vitória
14 - Campinas
15 - Londrina
16 - João Pessoa
17 - Santos
18 - Maceió
19 - Aracaju
20 - Ribeirão Preto

All these cities are in different Metro Areas, none of them are in the same Metro Area...

Let's start with...

São Paulo - the biggest city:

Rio de Janeiro (you can't see all the tall buildings in a same picture because of the mountains):

Belo Horizonte (the city where's the headquarters of Google Brazil):

Fortaleza (the city where I live :)):

Recife:

Salvador:

Porto Alegre:

Curitiba:

ugliest collection ever :eek:hno:
I see densities, skylines... maybe in another angle. :p
Brazil is maybe one of the countries with more elevators (lifts) in the world. Otis, Schindler Group and ThyssenKrupp earn a lot of money here...

Buddy, unfortunately I have to agree with you. After all these years on SSC, seeing cities' pictures from all over the world I've came to a terrible conclusion. Brazilian cities are a boring collection of low rises. One who looks to our cities will see an endless amount of match box buildings with nothing to break the monotony. Maybe the only thing who helps is their natural beauties like that of Rio or their historic buildings, nothing more. Our entrepreneurs are lazy and has no imagination. Brazilian cities need a, like we say here, a beat in their looks!!
^^
Cities are not only skylines and densities. The vibe counts a lot. Why do you think so many people around the world come to Rio and Salvador even with the urban violence? Unfortunately some people here can't see more than glassy buildings and perfect lined streets and moreover, Brazilians insist in post picstures of buildings and skylines and never post a single shot of the street life in our cities. IMO, street life shots are far away better.

indeed, but this does not take the merit of what I've said...
