Ghelamco, the building company of Royal Antwerp Football Club owner Paul Gheysens that already constructed the Ghelamco Arena in Ghent and won the competition for the canceled Eurostadium in Brussels, will continue with the renovation of the Bosuil Stadium (currently 16,444 seats).

After finishing a new main stand last year, the club announced on September 29 that the remaining stands will be replaced within the year, increasing the capacity to 23,000 with a possibility to accommodate up to 27,000 fans in the future.

The first phase, the demolition of Tribune 4 should commence this month. The new stand will also contain the new club academy infrastructure.

Tribune 2, in front of the main stand is the only remaining stand of the original stadium from 1923. The new stand that will replace it will be safe standing.

^^ Nice progress. It will be quite a nice stadium when finished. But if windy and rainy conditions combined are out there that new roof won't prevent quite a few spectators from getting wet. Because the roof is relatively short and mounted too high up.

Some days ago they started to connect the roof from the main stand (Tribune 1) with Tribune 4

I am quite happy to see the second biggest city in Belgium, and a very beautiful one to boot, finally have a football club worthy of it and a great new stadium.

However, if I wanted to be picky, the link between the main stand and the corner of the newest stand seems a bit ... weird. Surely they could have done that a bit better so that it seemed more continuous. Now it will seem very fragmented. Mehhh, it's obviously no big deal but it's just a little detail.
I have thunk that idea for a little time, but I suppose what they want to link three stands and keep the main stand being different. We need to observe the stadium finished!

For me, a very small detail is the fact that the new design could preserve the ancient tunnel into the future stand.
