Name 3 architects you want in your city to build skyscrapers.

Sydney:
1. Toyo Ito & Associates
2. Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates
3. Santiago Calatrava

Chifley Tower was a team architect work with Travis. It is very different to typical KPF design and philosophy. KPG's typical design is bionic and neo-urban, not New York-modernist.

It might be very different to their current work, but it's got a lot in common with their post modern designs of the early 90s. I doubt the local architects did any design work.

Yes, KPF's early work was characterised by the large 'blue' curved glass wall and strong 'masonry' elements, during 1980s/90s, starting in Denver, and demonstrated in Chifley Tower. The PoMo references in their work was to the Art Deco skyscrapers of Chicago and NY.
Travis & Partners were merely the local handmaiden who supervised the work here while KPF went off elsewhere to spread their joy: they were very much in demand with a bit of a 'rep' for being Young Turks back then, but by mid-1990s they were very much part of the American architectural aristocracy & working internationally.

For Perth (or for any city in Australia really):

Frank Gehry
Santiago Calatrava
Daniel Libeskind

Edit:

Add Poms Grimshaw and Rogers: though Rogers has tried but no success so far. His design for Mirvac at Chifley Square is sadly missed while his project for Barangaroo was a bit short on height but probably the most interesting, feasible design.
