^ no worries.wow, thread no 7 already? went so quick.

for anyone interested in the Balconies on E.(just answering a querie on another thread).
The grey features are balcs. just looking at my plans of E, the balcs are only 1.2m deep (enough room for chairs & table and cold beer) and measure 8m long (short balcs) and longer ones total 11m in length but are divided for 3 units.
From level65 up, (diamond floor plates) they are enclosed balcs, like Q1,s and World Towers top 20 floors..

On our way home from Geelong tonight, my wife asked me if there was anyone living in the big E as she could see lights on. To my knowledge I didn't think there was anyone in there. I seem to remember there being a core adjustment about 10 to 15 floors ago. Is this where the lower lifts top out and the top lifts take over and if so, does this mean the lower lifts are operational?

There were about 20 apartments occupied by xmas with a further 5-10 per week after the new year
There have been two core setbacks now which is where the lifts top out for the riverrise & premierrise sections of the tower

Just wondering ???? Now that they are reopening the Skyhigh restaurant complex on Mt. Dandenong........does it have the highest to roof level ......ie above the Yarra as the Eureka often quotes as it's datum.

Much much higher.Mt Dandenong is 425 mts but the highest point is aprox 600 mts to the top of the tallest TV tower.

Whoa? melway shows Mt Dandenong at 633 meters if memory serves. Thats a little less than twice Eureka's height; comparible to Burj Dubai.

How high are they occupied to?

I work in 35 Collins and my new desk has a great view of Eureka I look at it all day. Will bring my cam in and take a few shots.

Wow, that's not bad. Do you know what side of the building they are on? I'll have to peer out for night lights!

Also, it just occurred to me that it's been ages since we had anyone do that visit to the top of IBM - I remember some cool Eureka shots which came from there. It would be great to see a verti-pan from there now! (hint hint, nudge nudge!)

LOL yes will do, I neglected to mention it but you're right it's a sore point with a lot of people in the building :) I won't say what floor I'm on for fear of crazed skyscraper city stalkers, but I'm staring it right in the face as well :) When I remember to bring my cam in I'll take a few shots.

Only just discovered this board, have always been a fan of skyscrapers. In retrospect I guess it was obvious something like this could exist!

Wish I'd had my camera here a week or two ago. On one of the rainy days, the rain was sweeping across the city, cloud was really low and the crane and inner core at the top of Eureka was completely swallowed up in the mist. Really wonder how often the residents at the top will be stuck in the clouds.

Thanks for the welcome to the board, really looking forward to watching the progress of some of the buildings here :)

EDIT Here's one shot I took a few weeks ago... cruddy weather that day, prior to the last core rise (is that what you call it?).
