Most of the 1920/30s art cinemas were art deco. Any that survive are generally art deco. The cinema at the Wavertree Clock was superb. Super big and and like a Busby Barclay Hollywood set inside.

There's Oodles in fact, more than any other British City?

Most other cities seems to be going through a bit of a building slump, wheras Liverpool wasn't? I dunno, or maybe they didn't get knocked down so fast in the 60/70?
There is also an early version in one of the back streets off Church St.. it has a sports shop in it.. blue zig zags etc... can't think of the shop or the street right now!

Of course there is the Royal Court

The Phil concert hall

Anything up in the uni campus?

There's some def. early 20th c. detailing on the Anglican Cathedrial, but I'm not allowed to call it Art Deco..!

That's the one. There is an image of the conway castle which made me think the building is early deco as this would have been fucked off two years into the style.

Stephen, there are loads of buildings that have elements of art deco, but that could not be called art deco themselves.. shame as there are some lovely bits around the city.

P.S don't forget the hangars at the old airport... great pics of the main terminal dave

The clubhouses at a few local golf clubs, most notably Birkdale. I think Childwall has an art deco clubhouse too :)
The B/Head Tunnel entrances architecture and furniture and ventillation towers.

Philharmonic hall.

Royal Court?
