Most of the 1920/30s art cinemas were art deco. Any that survive are generally art deco. The cinema at the Wavertree Clock was superb. Super big and and like a Busby Barclay Hollywood set inside.Tony Sebo said:There is most of the infrastructure for the first Mersey Tunnel, especially some of the detailing on Georges dock.
martins Bank

The old cinema on Prescot Rd Dovecot
There is a building behind Old Hall St by cotton exchange that has a nice deco exterior.. two big lamps on the entrance, though the inside was ripped out in the mid 90s'!
It used to a pub called the `Conway`(?) if memory serves me correctly?Tony Sebo said:There is also an early version in one of the back streets off Church St.. it has a sports shop in it.. blue zig zags etc... can't think of the shop or the street right now!
Of course there is the Royal Court
The Phil concert hall
Anything up in the uni campus?
That's the one. There is an image of the conway castle which made me think the building is early deco as this would have been fucked off two years into the style.Pietari said:It used to a pub called the `Conway`(?) if memory serves me correctly?
