Hi! So we have a lot of creative and talented people aboard this forum.
But even those who aren't quite on top yet, improve your skills:

Share your own drawings, paintings, drafts, 3D models etc.
of traditional / historical / classical architecture!

It doesn't have to be real/existing buildings, show your own designs,
fantasy buildings, visions, cityscapes, whatever you like.

I'm not much of a painter myself.
I'll give a starter with a 2013 oil on canvas painting by Carl Laubin.
It was created for the 10 years anniversary of the Driehaus Prize.
All buildings shown were actually built by the prize winners.
They're all works of New Classical Architecture finished in the last 30 years!

Source. Driehaus Prize website.

Here's my Tulane University School of Architecture 1989 thesis project: It is for the expansion of the New Orleans Museum of Art. It was the only project done in a deliberately classical style.

Nice one, though i don't like the dome, a circular one would be much nicer (IMO).

The original museum was a classical design that was very Greek; there were no arches, vaults or domes to be found anywhere. I didn't think a dome would be appropriate in this instance. I modeled the stepped pyramid after the Mausoleum of Halicarnassus. In section, it's not really a pyramid, but a series of concentric baffles with a flat roof and skylight below.

Ok, after several weeks of silence, here are two of my drawings, from about two years ago, when I began to practice more detail in classical architecture:

Something I've posted in the 3D section earlier:

This was the 3rd church by that name on that spot in Copenhagen. It was built after a 14th century gothic church was destroyed in the 1728 fire of Copenhagen. The new church built between 1728-1738 was built with a mix of baroque and gothic elements. The tower of the church was 120 meters to the top of the spire. Today a 4th church is bearing the name Church of Our Lady, as this church was destroyed during the English bombings of Copenhagen in 1807.

This model is based on this 1748 drawing by Laurids de Thurah

Model

Overview, I have yet to model the main entrance, but I have have no image of how it looked like atm.

^^ I really like Bent's second, third and fourth drawings. In the fourth one, it looks as if he based himself on ?Portuguese? architecture... although I may be wrong. :)
No, please leave it here. I'm aware of the Creative Corner, but I wanted a close connection to the forumers of this edge of SSC and more creative interaction, so I intentionally opened it at the Classic Architecture forum. The CC forum will get overlooked by most of the forumers here.

Thanks. :)

Ah, my bad. Obviously you have to register for the APH/Stadtbild forum first, but it's well worth the minute, promised:

This forum is simply fantastic for everyone in love with classical architecture!
Even if you don't understand German (translators certainly help), it's full of fantastic image material.

CNB30 is an architecture student now, congrats! :)

Some Recent Designs of Mine (if this is the right place to put them). I spend about 1.5-3 hours on each Image and draw one every Friday.
