i am wondering if this is caused by trade tension between Indonesia and EU in these past few months.Indonesian citizens will be required to pay a higher fee when applying for a Schengen visa starting Feb. 2, 2020.
According to SchengenVisaInfo.com, the fee will increase from €60 (US$67) to €80 for adults and €35 to €40 for children.
Additionally, new rules will be applied for Indonesians planning to visit European Union countries next year. Among them are permission to submit an application up to six months in advance of departure, instead of three months; and a more "harmonized approach" to the issuance of multiple entry visas with longer validity for travelers who have "a positive visa history."

Australia, India, and Indonesia are of crucial importance to Singapore Airlines. They account for around 5.7 million of the 13 million. Their significance is shown in the top-20 airport-pairs, with Australia featuring nine times, Indonesia ten and India four. The Kangaroo Route is alive and well, with London Heathrow – Australia taking most of the top-five spots. But it is Jakarta – Hong Kong that leads. Across all airlines, an estimated 605,000 flew between them. Of this, Singapore possesses a 13% share.

It's good for the economy but it could be better or worse for the environment.(Reuters) - Indonesia on Monday launched biodiesel containing 30% palm-based fuel, the highest mandatory mix in the world, in a bid to slash its fuel import bill and boost domestic palm oil consumption.
President Joko Widodo said so-called “B30” biodiesel would allow Indonesia to cut its fossil fuel imports by 63 trillion rupiah ($4.5 billion) a year, up from 43.8 trillion rupiah saved in 2019 from existing B20 fuels.
“This will improve our current account deficit and increase our import substitution,” Widodo said at the launch.
Indonesia, the world’s biggest palm oil producer and exporter, has been gradually increasing the bio content of its biodiesel, aiming to absorb growing supplies of palm oil while also trimming costly fuel imports.
Since late 2018, bodiesel sold across Indonesia has had a mandatory 20% bio mix, using fatty acid methyl esters (FAME) made from palm oil.
“Indonesia is recorded as the first country to implement B30 in the world,” the energy ministry said on Monday, noting that its use will be mandatory from Jan. 1.
The European Union concluded in March that palm oil causes excessive deforestation and plans to effectively phase it out as a fuel for transport. Indonesia has filed a complaint at the World Trade Organization.
“We will not be dependent on other countries who want to buy our CPO (crude palm oil),” Widodo said. “If you don’t buy it, I can use myself... Our bargaining position is stronger.”
The use of B20 is generally accepted for new vehicles. Supporters of higher blends have dismissed concerns raised by some industry groups that using more FAME could lead to engine problems, potentially increasing maintenance costs.
Indonesia aims to conduct road tests for biodiesel with 40% palm-based fuel next year, a senior minister said earlier this month.

Billionaire rapper Jay-Z and tennis star Serena Williams are among global public figures who have invested their funds to back the growth of Indonesia’s homegrown coffee chain Kopi Kenangan, the chain’s CEO confirmed on Monday.
“Kopi Kenangan has the vision to take [the brand] internationally on the global stage. That’s why we decided to find investors that could help us with such brand-building,” Kopi Kenangan cofounder and CEO Edward Tirtanata told The Jakarta Post.
Edward said the deal had been sealed last week.
Williams invested through her venture company, Serena Ventures, while Jay-Z made the investment through his venture firm Arrive, a subsidiary of entertainment management company Roc Nation Company, Edward explained.
Arrive cofounder and president Neil Sirni said his team was “inspired” by Kopi Kenangan’s “tenacity, vision and ability to execute”, citing the coffee chain’s rapid expansion to 18 cities, 200 stores and over 1,800 employees since its debut in 2017 as proof of such qualities.
