Even if they were in quarantine zone?? Well, good luck with that.
Btw: Changing from "didn't test even those had cough" to "test all those who cough". Nice try.
All quarantine procedure follow WHO standard
WHO will test people who cough when eating or drinking in quarantine zone?

Thats why Vietnam healthy at top notch, even US not do the same thing!

Preparing to order 184 carriages of airconditioned DMU for intercity services in either 4 car formation or 6 car formation with the distance not more than 500 km per trip including

1. Bangkok - Nakhon Ratchasima (263 km) - temporary measure until opening of Thai - China High Speed train and cutting down the travel time from 5 hours and 30 minutes - 6 hours to 3 hours

2. BKK - Phitsanuloke (389 km) and cutting down the travel time from 5 hours and 30 minutes to 4 hours and 30 minutes - it is quite possible to extend to Sila At since the distance from BKK to Sila At is 487 km but another 1 hours and 30 minutes will be added even though the additional 29 km on Sawankhaloke Branch line need to think twice.

3. BKK - Chumporn [468 km] and cutting down the travel time from 6 hours and 30 minutes to 5 hours and 30 minutes

The bidding will be started in 2020 so as to be ready for services in December 2023 - when massive double tracking phase 1 is done. This set will definitely have second class airconditioned seats but the additional first class seats are more likely the option.

Next on the line is 216 new third class airconditined DMUs to allow the retirement of the good old Diesel railcars for local trains and commuter trains outside red line commuter networks.

Indonesia Picks Island Near Singapore to Treat Virus Patients
Bloomberg - March 3, 2020
Indonesia plans to build a hospital to treat people infected by the deadly coronavirus at Galang, an island in Riau province close to Singapore, a senior minister said.

The facility will be constructed with the help of the army and will be run by the health ministry, Public Works and Housing Minister Basuki Hadimuljono told reporters in Jakarta on Tuesday. The hospital, to be located about an hour away from Batam airport, will be more easily accessible than Sebaru Island near Jakarta, where about 250 evacuees from two cruise ships are currently quarantined, he said.
...
Indonesia had quarantined 243 people on the island of Natuna after they were evacuated from coronavirus-hit Wuhan and other parts of China. The move was protested by the locals, prompting authorities to say it will scout for an uninhabited island in the archipelago to quarantine and treat infectious disease patients.

Galang was once used as a refugee camp by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees to accommodate more than 170,000 people who fled conflict in Southeast Asia, according to the UN agency. The camp was closed in 1996.

Actually this is exactly what we did. Believe it or not, it turns out that the people with symptoms coming back from china were only 100. The indonesians that tested positive were only tested because they had contact with the japanese that was tested positive covid-19. So i guess there is nothing wrong with our procedures.

Our number of tested people is still low because we had not any positives in our country, so we only tested the people that had symptoms coming back from china. Now that there are already positives in indonesia, the number of people tested would increase exponentially because we need to test that many people that had contact with them.

What our minister said, we cannot test all the people that coughed if those people had no predisposing factor of covid-19 (coming from china / other alarming country or had contact with positive sars-cov-2)
Did you know that COVID-19 got incubation period for 14 days and in China got a case can be longer till 27 days before show sickness or tested real positive means the people who tested positive can be a spreader once if they don't know yet that they are positive..SARS is more danger but COVID-19 got more incubation period of time means can be a great spreader than SARS...

That's why South Korea now got a great number to 4,000+ case already..only second from China!

E-money transactions in Indonesia skyrocket 173% in January
source : Link

Electronic money (e-money) transactions in Indonesia’s retail market skyrocketed by 173 percent in January from a year earlier, with nonbank fintech dominating the scene as the country works its way toward a cashless society, the central bank says.

Bank Indonesia (BI) senior deputy governor Destry Damayanti said that the growth of e-money in retail transactions had especially picked up in the past two years, as consumers shifted to the ease of noncash options.

“Last January, the growth of e-money was 173 percent year-on-year. So, it is growing in dominance,” Destry said during a panel discussion on CNBC Indonesia’s Economic Outlook 2020 in Jakarta on Wednesday.

E-money transactions reached Rp 15.8 trillion (US$1.1 billion) in January this year, close to tripling last year’s Rp 5.8 trillion transactions, according to BI data.[

With the growth of digital consumers, online shopping is predicted to increase 3.7 times from $13.1 billion in transactions in 2017 to $48.3 billion in 2025, the study says.

Progress on 132-km Map Krabao - Thanon Jira double tracking with a price tag of 29,968.62 Million Baht in February 2020 -
Overall progress:
the expected goal is 40.23 % done with the realized goal of 41.42 % - quite an impressive progress indeed .

First contract from Map Krabao to Klong Khanjit with a price tag of 7,560 Million Baht to be done in 48 months by ITD PCL:
the expected goal is 56.71 % done with the realized goal of 59.35 % - very encouraging sign indeed.

Third contract on the three tunnels with total distance of 8 km on Map Krabao - Klong Khanjit section with a price tag of 9,290 Million Baht to be done in 42 months by ITD PCL and RT:
the expected goal is 33.598 % done with the realized goal of 31.969 % - delayed but not so much

Sadly, the second contract on the double tracking from Klong Khanjit to Thanon Jira Junction has been postponed due to the issue to elevated tracks in downtown Khorat city that needs extra budget approved by the government. There is still some hope to get this 132 km double tracking done by the end of 2022 even though the elevated tracks in downtown Khorat city is going to be fully done in 2023.

Indonesia Makes Claim for New Borders in the South Pacific
4 MARCH 2020
Indonesian government representatives are currently in New York to argue their case for continental shelf claims in the area north of Papua. The claim, which was first submitted in April 2019, will be raised during today’s plenary meeting of the fifty-second session of the Commission on the Limits of the Continental Shelf. According to a statement from the Indonesian Coordinating Ministry for Maritime and Investment Affairs, the claim seeks the right to explore close to 200,000 square kilometres along the continental shelf located around the Eauripik Rise as shown on the map below.

Indonesia’s claim is based on the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS), which states that countries may make territorial claims based on continental shelves that extend beyond the 200 nautical mile limit known as the Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ), so long as the claimed area does not border other countries. The area claimed by Indonesia meets those requirements and must be examined by the UN Commission on the Limit of the Continental Shelf (UNCLCS) to determine whether the rise is a part of Indonesia’s continental shelf.

The incentive behind the claim is primarily economic. If approved, Indonesia will be granted the rights to explore the seabed for oil, gas and minerals.
...
Indonesia, however, is not the only country that has economic interests in that region. Papua New Guinea (PNG), Micronesia and Palau have all previously submitted claims that include the areas claimed by Indonesia.
...
If negotiations were to take place, it could cause some frictions with the other claimants. Micronesia, Palau and PNG would have much higher stakes in the negotiations given how valuable the natural resources are in respect to their much lower GDPs. Those frictions, however, will likely be minor and short-lived. The Eauripik Rise holds little strategic value and Indonesia has significantly greater bargaining power, putting its government in a position where it can better negotiate an amicable agreement.

100 Islands as Options to Isolate Communicable Diseases

Health Minister Terawan Agus Putranto said there were approximately 100 islands as options to become the isolation locations of infectious dieseases. He added, however, the options had not been narrowed down yet.

“There are 100 islands, so many. Look them up yourselves, I cannot memorize them all,” he told journalists after attending a limited coordination meeting on the selection of special isolation islands for communicable diseases at the Coordinating Security Ministry on Jl. Medan Merdeka Barat, Central Jakarta, Friday, February 7, 2020.

Terawan said the meeting had not touched on any detail pertaining to the location selection. Some related governmental agencies joining the meeting, such as the National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB) and the Armed Forces (TNI), had only canvassed the geological, political, economical and security aspects, he explained.

“So today it’s about brainstorming,” Terawan said, adding that each related ministry and agency had only rendered input to the Coordinating Security Minister Mahfud MD.

Separately, Mahfud MD said this plan was a long-term anticipation to prevent against contagious diseases, including the coronavirus, which was among the reasons the plan was devised.

Mahfud MD said Natuna was chosen as it was equipped with a military base, which was among the considerations to decide on the special isolation locations.
Yes, one criterion is that it should be close to a military base so it will be easier for the evacuation process, and also near an airport,” he said.

KUALA LUMPUR: The Immigration Department has temporarily closed all autogates and e-gates at the country's entry points following the Covid-19 outbreak.

In a letter addressed to all state Immigration directors dated today, it stated the Immigration director-general had agreed to close all autogate lanes for Malaysians, the E-Gate for foreigners under the National Enforcement and Registration Biometric System (NERS) and the E-Gate Malaysian Automated Clearance System (MACS).

"This closure is effective immediately and any change including updates will be informed from time to time," it added.

The letter was signed by the Security and Passport Division director Datuk Mohd Zulfikar Ahmad on behalf of Immigration Department director-general Datuk Khairul Dzaimee Daud.

Khairul later confirmed the matter, saying: "Yes, we have shut down all autogates and e-gates temporarily, as an added measure in controlling Covid-19 outbreak."

KPJ's Q4 revenue rises to RM944mil, net profit up 65pct to RM90.8mil
By NST Business February 26, 2020 @ 4:31pm

KUALA LUMPUR: Strong momentum from Malaysian hospital operations has lifted KPJ Healthcare Bhd’s earnings, cementing positive year-on-year (YoY) organic growth for the hospital operator.

KPJ's revenue rose 7.7 per cent for the fourth quarter (Q4) ended December 31 2019 to RM944.0 million compared to RM876.5 million in the same quarter in 2018.

Apart from its strong Malaysian operations, the group said its Indonesian Rumah Sakit Media Bumi Serpong Damai in Jakarta was able to expand its business, primarily through aggressive marketing offering innovative packages, as well as the addition of more inpatient beds.

The group will be exploring possible expansion of new markets like Vietnam, China and the Middle East, as part of its big push on medical tourism into Malaysia.

With the added capacity of its network hospitals arising from recent greenfield and brownfield development, KPJ is bullish about its prospect of expanding its foreign patient segment.

For quarter-on-quarter statistically, KPJ's outpatients in Malaysia rose 3.1 per cent in Q4 2019 to 673,569 patients compared to 653,179 patients in the same quarter last year.

Outpatients in Indonesia rose 8.8 per cent to 33,033 from 30,353 last year, while Bangladesh operations lead the race 34.2 per cent to 38,775 patients from 28,890 patients previously.

For the inpatient segment, KPJ posted 81,818 patients in Malaysian operations for Q4 2019, up 4.0 per cent from 78,703 a year ago.

Inpatient for Indonesia operations rose 7.0 per cent to 2,257 from 2,110 patients posted in Q4 2018 while Bangladesh was higher at 64.7 per cent to 1,845 inpatients compared to 1,120 posted in Q4 2018.

Indonesia to turn former Vietnamese refugee camp into hospital for COVID-19 patients

The government is making plans to transform a former camp for Vietnamese refugees on Galang Island, Batam, Riau Islands, into a hospital for COVID-19 patients.

During a visit to assess the site, Indonesian Military (TNI) commander Air Chief Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto said Galang Island was chosen as the location for a COVID-19 hospital as several of the site's buildings still remained after being used as a refugee camp from 1979 to 1996.

The hospital, which is expected to be able to accommodate 1,000 patients, will be equipped with isolation rooms as well, which will take up 2 percent of the hospital’s total capacity.

“We will prepare 50 isolation rooms as the World Health Organization's health protocol stipulates that 2 percent of the hospital's capacity must be isolation rooms,” Hadi said.

Public Works and Housing Minister Basuki Hadimuljono said construction would be completed within a month.
