Ayala Land doubles wager on Makati's future as premier PH city

By: Krista Angela M. Montealegre, InterAksyon.com | August 14, 2014 3:42 PM
MANILA – Ayala Land Inc (ALI) is hiking its investment for the redevelopment of Makati City, considered the “crown jewel” of the Ayala Group’s real estate company.

By next year, ALI will kick off the next phase of the Ayala Center redevelopment, focusing on the property at the corner of Ayala Avenue and EDSA. This will comprise an expansion of retail spaces, two brand new hotels including Seda, two office towers, and a public transit terminal that will improve the link of the MRT with city buses along EDSA and internal transit within the CBD. At the heart of Phase 2, Ayala Center redevelopment is a business convention facility.

They don't exactly need to move Intercon. They can always stack the convention center and hotel and some retail, all on top of a massive basement parking connected seamlessly to the existing basement parking facility where they can use the first basement level as a transport terminal.

walang kwenta. pangit. matatanda na siguro mga architects ng Ayala kaya puro 70s design ang buildings nila. Premier daw ang Makati pero ang mga tinatayo ng Ayala pang ordinaryo lang.
Minsan kung sino pa nga yung mga maliliit na developers sila pa yung nakakapag-produce ng magandang design...what is so premier about Premier?! ok sige...the price! :bash:

Ayala Land plans to redevelop InterCon hotel area

ABS-CBNnews.com | Posted at 08/20/2014 12:08 PM | Updated as of 08/20/2014 12:49 PM

MANILA, Philippines - With Mandarin Oriental Hotel closing its doors this year, Makati City may again lose one of its oldest hotels. This time, it's the Hotel Intercontinental Manila. Ayala Land is planning to redevelop the Hotel InterCon area by 2016. In an interview with ANC, ALI president Bobby Dy said the property giant is looking to develop another mixed-use development at the InterCon area.

"In 2016, we're going to be looking at the InterCon area, that's a 2 hectare parcel, to have another mixed-use development. The cost would be around P15-billion," he said. The InterCon, which opened its doors in 1969, is one of the oldest establishments in Makati. However, Dy said plans have not been finalized for the InterCon property. "We will probably have to look for a new site for the InterCon. It could actually be there or at another site," he said.

Ayala Land

October 9, 2015 – Ayala Land Inc. (ALI) has unveiled plans for a new commercial, mixed-use development that will transform the entrance of Ayala Center Makati into a modern gateway, with a first-of-its-kind intermodal transport facility designed especially for the commuting public.

“This is the next phase of our P125 billion Makati revitalization plan which also consists of the redevelopment of McKinley Exchange, Ayala Triangle, City Gate and Circuit Makati,” said Manny A. Blas, Ayala Land Vice President and Head of Operations for Makati. We deliberately planned the Ayala Center redevelopment in such a way that all of its property components are pulled together by an expansive, modern and comfortable intermodal transport facility which will ultimately ease traffic and pedestrian flow in the EDSA-Ayala area.”

OMG ito pa talaga yung inuna kesa sa redevelopment ng Glorietta 3. :eek:hno:

But still it is a nice development though. Dahil katapat lang niya yung Glorietta 5, tataas na ng tataas yung foot traffic doon. At tsaka maganda yung plano na bagong terminal.

probably the bus station would be for east bound only? i am hoping for a similar set up for west bound. hope they could buy the condominium on the other side (if thats even possible haha). whats the nearest bus stop from glorietta west bound? Ayala tower 1 pa pwede sumakay? parang pwede na din nilang pagsamahin pati yung bgc buses dun (if the capacity allows it).

probably Glorietta 6/7 or G5 extension? could be a kilometer long from end point of the new extension to Greenbelts end portion.

the chances that this gets build first than Glorietta 3 is high. ililipat yung mga tenant dun tapos bago gigibain ang 3. parang tulad ng nangyari sa G5. i could be wrong though

Maybe they will just call it "Glorietta 6" with a connection to the existing G5

^^ kung may pera kang pang demolish, pwede naman ikaw. :smug:

I'm happy that this building will be demolished very soon and look forward to have the parking area be included as well.

Hopefully, the surrounding area will be much happening. At the moment, the immediate area is very dim especially the frontage of the parking where people take buses.
