Ayala Land, Inc ( ALI [ 10.25 ], news, chart, profile ) ., the property arm of the Ayala Group, will unveil this year Greenbelt 5, the latest addition to its upscale Greenbelt shopping districts, a senior company official told BusinessWorld yesterday.

Executive Vice-President Miriam O. Katigbak said with Greenbelt 5, the company hopes to complete the mix of Greenbelt and make it a "full lifestyle center."

"We will be starting soon on Greenbelt 5. This is all commercial spaces, primarily non-food outlets," she said.

This means that Ayala Land will not put up another residential condominium as it already has the Greenbelt Residences. The property firm is already in talks with prospective retailers for the soon-to-be launched shopping district. Putting up more entertainment venues is also another option for Ayala Land.

Ms. Katigbak said the development will complement the changes in the Greenbelt shopping district, particularly its transformation into a more upscale commercial area.

Yup, it's the excavation between Ayala Museum and GB1. The site of the former two-level steel parking building and the Max's restaurant. Kita yung site sa Ayala Museum stretch ng walkway.

Ayala Land, Landmark in
North Triangle mall tie-up
By Cai U. Ordinario, Reporter

Landmark Corp., the Philippines’ largest real-estate firm and retailer, entered into a tie-up, making Landmark the anchor department store in the proposed North Triangle mall in Quezon City.

Jaime I. Ayala, Ayala Land Inc. (ALI) president, announced that the deal will be an opportunity for Ayala and Landmark since it has yet to create a presence in Metro Manila’s northern areas such as Quezon City, Malabon and Caloocan City.

ALI became the controlling shareholder in the North Triangle mall after a share-swap with the Sobrepeña-led Fil-Estate Group.

Besides completion by 2007, the North Triangle development, which will commence construction this year, will feature Ayala Land’s “greatest hits” such as high-end shopping, outdoor dining and others.

Other projects expected to begin this year include the construction of Glorietta 5 and several call-center/business-process outsourcing facilities.

Although it agreed to build an eight-story structure for the Hong Kong Shanghai Banking Corp. in a 12,000-square-meter lot in Fort Bonifacio, the Ayala real-estate firm will also be building a call-center building for InfoNXX, a directory-assistance call center, on a 10,000-square-meter lot in Santa Rosa, Laguna.

Ayala said the company has no plans of putting up another hotel this year.

However, he said the real-estate firm has renewed a five-year contract with the Hotel Intercontinental Manila for possible hotel-operating ventures in the future.

Ayala also disclosed that the firm has opened phase 1B and the structure parking spaces of Market! Market!

While the company announced expansion plans for Serendra in Fort Bonifacio, Ayala failed to elaborate on the project’s timetable.

However, Ayala disclosed that Anvaya Cove, its high-end residential community, is doing well. Not only did the executive report that the project’s Cliffside area has been launched and that the construction of the second neighborhood has begun, prices of the project’s club shares went up several times since these were offered for sale last year.

Ayala Land will also be building the 17 exclusive villas on the cove, which are designed by Andy Locsin and located near the ocean.

The company has launched Avida Towers behind SM San Lazaro in Manila, ALI’s foray to tap middle-market buyers. Avida Towers, managed by Avida Land Corp., formerly known as Laguna Properties Holdings Inc., is expected to be turned over to residents in the first quarter of 2009.
So there's also Glorietta 5?

lol what's old for you? Glorietta 4 was like 2000.. it looks very 90s the complex. Though perhaps the crowds keep getting bigger the hallways need to accomodate more people.

That's probably a typo. They might have meant GB5.

Not necessarily but Glorietta is poised to undergo a renovation in the near future even though for me the mall is relatively young.
Yes, there's this so called "Glorietta Redevelopment Plan" which will be implemented in the near future.
