Transformation of the N49 expressway Antwerp-Northsea to a normal motorway, the A11/E34, is slowly making progress. Between Antwerp and Zelzate, there is only one same-level crossing left, near Kruisstraat.

Another big project is the prestigious Oosterweelbridge which, when completed, should close the inner ring road of Antwerp.

A605

A new stretch of motorway east of Liege should enable trough-traffic to travel southwards alot faster
The future A605 connects the E40 with the E25
